University Scholars Program
Business and accounting majors with a 3.25 or higher UF GPA are eligible to participate in the University Scholars Program. Students must meet eligibility requirements at the time of application. You must not earn your bachelor’s degree before Spring 2015.
Students should begin working on the research project with their faculty mentor during the 2014 – 2015 academic year. University Scholars are required to enroll in the University Scholars course (GEB 4906) in the Fall and Spring semesters. Upon completion of the research project, students must write a properly formatted research paper and submit it to the UF Journal of Undergraduate Research (visit the JUR site) or to another scholarly journal for publication. Also, students are required to give an oral presentation about their research at the University Scholars Symposium, which is held in March. To receive the University Scholars stipend ($1,750), recipients must successfully fulfill all program requirements. Please read the Scholars Responsibilities!
Note: The required research paper for the University Scholars Program can be used to fulfill the College honors thesis requirements.
Applications for the University Scholars Program must be submitted (in hard copy format) directly to the Heavener School of Business in 233 Bryan Hall no later than 5:00pm on Monday, February 17, 2014. Application packets must contain the following:
