Your opening slide needs to include the names of each of the awards above that you are applying for, and you should verbally announce these during your presentation.
Develop an organization fact sheet (1 page maximum) that highlights program relevant program statistics (size, list of events and their type (socials, professional, service) and other information deemed useful for review.

Hall of Fame
The Warrington Hall of Fame is reserved for those students who have shown truly superior leadership and achievement through their activities and scholarship while members of the College community. Through their academic achievements and involvement as student leaders, it is clear to all who encounter them that they have set themselves apart from other outstanding student leaders and are especially deserving of this unique honor.
Corey was inducted into the Heavener Hall of Fame in recognition of his academic and leadership accomplishments. Corey graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and majored in Economics with a minor in Chinese language and literature. Mr. Ashmeade was a graduate, mentor, and advisory board member of the Florida Leadership Academy. Additionally, Corey has served Warrington as a Mentor in the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program, a Career and Academic Peer Mentor, the Executive Vice President of the Minority Business Society, and held several leadership positions in the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity. Corey accepted a position with LinkedIn in San Francisco, CA.
Kara is an accomplished scholar, student leader and Heavener Hall inductee who graduated with her Master of Accounting degree. Ms. Conley was a graduate, mentor, and advisory board member for the Florida Leadership Academy. She also served as the President of the Warrington Diplomats, a student representative of the Warrington Teaching Committee, and a Teaching Assistant for Audit 1, Audit 2, and Managerial Accounting for MBAs. Kara will be joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services Group in Atlanta, GA.
Kristin’s academic and leadership accomplishments earned her a spot in the Heavener Hall of Fame. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with her major in Economics and minor in Leadership. Ms. Fanto is a graduate, mentor, and advisory board member of the Florida Leadership Academy. She also served the college as a Warrington Diplomat, a teaching assistant for the Business Case Analysis course, and President of the Heavener International Case Competition. Kristin will attend law school at the University of Florida.
Rachel was inducted into the Heavener Hall of Fame in recognition of her academic and leadership accomplishments. Rachel graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and majored in Information Systems with a minor in International Development and Humanitarian Assistance. Ms. Halfaker was a graduate, mentor, and advisory board member of the Florida Leadership Academy. Additionally, Rachel has served Warrington as a Mentor in the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program, a Career and Academic Peer Mentor, and the co-founder and President of GatorTech. Rachel accepted a technology consultant position with Deloitte Federal Consulting in Washington, DC.
Joey was inducted into the Heavener Hall of Fame in recognition of his academic and leadership accomplishments. Joey graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and majored in Finance. Mr. Couture was a graduate, mentor, and Alumni Relations Director for the Florida Leadership Academy. Additionally, Joey has served Warrington as a Mentor in the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program, a Career and Academic Peer Mentor, and the Director of Case Logistics for the Heavener International Case Competition. Joey accepted a position with Deloitte Federal Consulting as a Strategy and Operations analyst in Washington D.C.
Luis is an accomplished scholar, student leader and Heavener Hall inductee who graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Mr. Franco was a graduate, mentor, and advisory board member of the Florida Leadership Academy. He also served as the President of the Heavener International Case Competition, a Teaching Assistant for the Business Case Analysis Course, and was recognized as the Outstanding Mentor of the Year for the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program. Luis will be joining Protiviti as a consultant in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Cara’s academic and leadership accomplishments earned her a spot in the Heavener Hall of Fame. Cara received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with her major in Finance. Ms. Grandstaff balanced her academic career with numerous leadership positions in the college. Cara was a graduate, mentor, and Advisory Board Chief of Staff for the Florida Leadership Academy. She also served the college as a Career and Academic Peer Mentor, a Warrington Welcome Peer Leader, and a Warrington Diplomat. Cara will begin her career in management and risk consulting with Protiviti in Washington D.C.
Kelsey’s accomplishments both academically and as a student leader earned her a spot in the Heavener Hall of Fame. Kelsey received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with her major in finance and served as a Warrington Finance Scholar.
Ms. Loftin balanced her academic career with numerous leadership positions in the college. Kelsey was a member of the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program advisory board for three years and held the Executive Director position for two of those years. Kelsey also served the college as a Warrington Diplomat, a Warrington Welcome Peer Leader, and a Leadership Ambassador.
Kelsey will begin her career at General Electric in Cincinnati, Ohio within the Financial Management Program.
Alexandra was inducted into the Heavener Hall of Fame in recognition of her academic and leadership accomplishments. Alexandra graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and majored in Economics.
Ms. Mazur was a graduate, mentor, and Advisory Board Chief of Staff of the Florida Leadership Academy. Additionally, Alexandra founded the Executive Council, an initiative that brought together the top leadership of each CCLD program. Alexandra also served the college as a Career and Academic Peer Mentor and a mentor for the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program.
Alexandra accepted a position with IBM in New York City, where she will work with the Blue Spark program.
Nicholas Pinto graduated with a major in accounting and had jointly pursued his Master of Accounting degree. He was awarded the Fisher Fellowship, a scholarship bestowed upon the top student in the undergraduate class. As a Fisher Fellowship recipient, Pinto represented the Fisher School of Accounting at the Florida Institute of CPA Accounting Conference (FICPA) where he delivered a technical analysis presentation to accounting professionals.
An accomplished student leader, Pinto is a graduate, mentor and Advisory Board member of the Florida Leadership Academy. He has served as the President of the Fisher School of Accounting Council and Vice President of Professional Development for the Warrington Diplomats. He has also been the head Teaching Assistant for the Fisher School’s Introduction to Financial Accounting course for the past three semesters.
Upon graduation, he has accepted a position with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he will be an Audit Associate in the firm’s Atlanta office.
Amanda Cleveland graduated with a Marketing degree and an Entrepreneurship minor, she is also jointly pursuing a Master of Arts in International Business.
Amanda actively served the Heavener School of Business as a Teaching Assistant for Principles of Marketing and as the Vice President of Programming for Warrington Diplomats. She was the Florida Leadership Academy Historian and has held three positions with the Florida Business Leadership Society. She is a Career and Peer (CAP) mentor who prides herself in giving back to her peers through mentorship and service.
Amanda is an Anderson Scholar with Distinction and has been named to the Warrington Dean’s list every semester. She has also been recognized on the President’s Honor Roll and as a Florida Academic Scholar. Amanda was awarded the Jean and Jewel Ahrano Scholarship for the MAIB Program during the Spring of 2013 recognizing her academic achievement and service to the college.
Amanda has completed internships with The Nielsen Company and Altria. After commencement, Amanda will travel to Vallendor, Germany where she will attend the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management’s MBA Summer Institute Program. Here, she will study the changing European Marketplace and complete her MAIB degree. Then she will head to Chicago to begin working for The Nielsen Company as an analyst in the consumer products division.
Katie Orovecz graduated with a Finance degree and a minor in Accounting. She is a Warrington Finance Scholar and has served as a Teaching Assistant for Macroeconomics and for the Finance Department as a Warrington Finance Scholar.
As an accomplished student leader, Katie was a graduate and mentor of the Florida Leadership Academy. She led the Nonprofit Consulting project as an Enactus Project Manager, and served as the Vice President of Recruitment for Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society. She is also the Vice President of Professional Development for the Business Administration College Council, and has helped develop her peers as a Career and Academic Peer (CAP) Mentor. Katie also represented the Warrington College of Business in the Scotiabank International Case Competition.
Outside of the Heavener School of Business, Katie was heavily involved with UF’s Horizons Community Service Organization serving in a variety of roles including President, and she also was a member of UF’s Handball Club participating in three national competitions.
Katie has completed internships with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and with Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. Upon graduation, Katie will join Deloitte as a Strategy and Operations Analyst for the Federal Government.
Ali Thompson graduated with a Finance degree, and a minor in Public Leadership. She is a Warrington Finance Scholar and has served the Department of Finance as a Teaching Assistant for the past two years.
As a student leader with extensive experience, Ali is a graduate, mentor, and Advisory Board Member of the Florida Leadership Academy. She has served as a Peer Leader, and Advisory Council Chair for Warrington Welcome. Ali was also a Mentor and Advisory Board Member of the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program. As the Enactus Project Manager, she led the First Year Florida Ethics Case Competition. She was a Small Group Facilitator for the Young Leaders Conference and also served her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, as the Scholarship Chair.
Ali has represented the Warrington College of Business in four different business case competitions placing third in the Thammasat Undergraduate Business Challenge in Bangkok, Thailand and first in the Johnson & Johnson Case Competition in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She is described as being a “harmonizer who uses her positive and supportive attitude to help her team persevere.”
Ali has completed internships with General Electric Healthcare Financial Management Program. Following graduation, she has been accepted into CSX Transportation’s Financial Leadership Development Program. She is truly an outstanding leader and business student.
Mikaela Moore graduated with degrees in Business Administration and Political Science, also has minors in East Asian Literature and Language and Public Leadership. She has studied abroad twice in China, at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and at Tsinghua University.
Mikaela has served as a delegate from the College of Business at 5 total international case competitions, including those in Maastricht and Singapore. She has also served as a University of Florida delegate at the Business Today Regional Conference in Houston, TX, the National Conference on Student Leadership in Atlanta, GA, and the Florida Student Education Policy Conference in Orlando, FL. She has dedicated her time to the community as a participant in Florida Alternative Breaks, as an Immigration Law participant.
Mikaela is also a Career & Academic Peer Mentor and Student Assistant in our college. She has held internships with Google, Inc as part a of the Building Opportunities for Leadership & Development Program, as well as with Senator Maria Sachs of the Florida Senate. She is a graduate of Class VI of the Florida Leadership Academy, and a member of Class II of the Gators of Tomorrow. She has continued involvement with the Florida Leadership Academy as a Mentor, and Advisory Board member.
Mikaela has been a mentor in the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program, and has served as a First-Year Florida Peer Leader for Warrington Welcome. She has also served as President of Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, and in various leadership positions with the Student Finance Group.
She is a student in the University of Florida Honors College, and has received the Honors of Presidential Achievement Scholar, Presidential Scholar, and Warrington College of Business Accenture Scholar. She is described as “an inspiring role model, and exceptional with people”.
After graduation, Mikaela joined the 2012 Teach for America Corps as a social-studies teacher in Miami-Dade County, and will then return to Google as an Account Manager with Online Sales.
Hannah Wampole graduated with a Business Administration degree with a major in Marketing and minors in Entrepreneurship and Leadership. In her senior year, she served as a Career & Academic Peer Mentor for our college, and has held internships with TriCoast Worldwide and Altria Sales and Distribution Group.
A student leader with extensive experience, Hannah has held three positions within the Warrington Diplomats, the most recent being President of this organization. She is also a graduate of Class VI Florida Leadership Academy, and has continued her involvement as both a Mentor and later a member of the Florida Leadership Academy Advisory Board.
She has also served as a First-Year Florida Peer Leader for Warrington Welcome, and a Teaching Assistant for Principles of Marketing. Also active in Student Government, Hannah has held the position of Cabinet Director of Career and Development.
Hannah has also held leadership positions within her sorority, and her community involvement includes tutoring at-risk elementary school children in East Gainesville. She has also been involved with UF’s Dance Marathon as Marketing Captain.
Hannah has been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an honors organization whose membership consists of the top 10% of undergraduate business and accounting majors. She is also a member of the Order of Omega, a Greek Honor Society for student leaders.
Hannah has received the honor of Anderson Scholar of Highest Distinction. Hannah is described as a “mentor”, and “professional, punctual and relational”.
Jerri graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a major in Management and a minor in Geography. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Jerri has been heavily involved in both the School of Business and the wider campus community through her efforts to positively impact others.
Jerri was a member of Class V of the Florida Leadership Academy (FLA). She also served as a mentor to Class VI students, and on the FLA Advisory Board as a member of the Public Relations Committee.
As a student committed to professional and personal development, she has participated in the University Scholars Program, conducting research in the field of management in pursuit of her passion for the study of organizational behavior. She is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, and received the honor of Anderson Scholar with Highest Distinction.
Jerri has also served as a two-time Warrington Welcome Peer Leader, and represented the College at the University of Southern California Marshall International Case Competition in 2010. Her service to the School of Business also includes participation as a mentor to a first-year student in the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program.
Jerri has also been a member of the Warrington Diplomats, serving on the Events committee, Resume Critiques and Mock Interview Committee, and the Promotions Committee.
Outside the Warrington College of Business, Jerri has also held the position of Resident Assistant with the department of Housing and Residence Education, leading 43 residents of Broward Hall. She has also served for the past two summers as a Resident Assistant and later Head Resident Assistant for the UF Upward Bound Program, a college preparatory program for high school students.
In addition, Jerri has served as programs director and internal vice president of the Jamaican American Student Association here at UF. Jerri plans to pursue a doctoral degree with research focus on Organizational Behavior. She is very grateful to the faculty who saw and invested in her potential, and plans to continue to remain involved in the initiatives of the Warrington College of Business to continue to give back.
Ashley Boccuzzi graduated with a Business Administration degree with a major in Finance and minors in both Spanish and Religion. She has served in many leadership positions within the School of Business and the wider campus community. As Council Chair of the Warrington Welcome Peer Leader Advisory Committee, Ashley has been an integral part of shaping the direction and impact of the Warrington Welcome program. Ashley has also served as a Warrington Welcome Peer Leader for two semesters, and a Peer Mentor for new Warrington Welcome Peer Leaders. She also served on the First Year Florida Peer Leader Task Force.
Ashley is also a Senior Teaching Assistant for the Warrington Finance Scholar Program, where she served as a mentor to eight other Finance Teaching Assistants. Ashley is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society, and was named an Anderson Scholar of Highest Distinction.
During her time as an undergraduate in the School of Business, Ashley has held the positions of Finance Intern for Concordia 21 in Madrid, Spain, through Boston University’s competitive Madrid Internship Program. She has also worked as a Financial Risk Management Advisory Intern for KPMG in Jacksonville, Florida.
In her sophomore year, Ashley was a member of Class V of the Florida Leadership Academy (FLA). Ashley has since served as a mentor for FLA Class VI and as a member of the FLA Advisory Board.
Ashley has also been a dedicated Resident Assistant with the Department of Housing and Residence Education since January of 2010. Prior to becoming a Resident Assistant, Ashley served as the President of the Murphree Area Council, representing 1,025 students and being named “President of the Year” for her leadership in this position. She has been actively involved in the Inter-Residence Hall Association as a voting member, and has received an award for being a “Dreamer and Doer” by this association.
After graduation, Ashley joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York City in the Operations Consulting Department. She looks forward to helping the next generation of Warrington graduates to achieve their professional goals.
Patricia Allshouse is from Hollywood, Florida, she graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a major in Management and a minor in History. She has served in many leadership positions within the School of Business. As President of the Business Administration College Council (BACC), Patricia has been an integral part of their activities which includes Business Bash, the largest student organization event in the School. Patricia has also served as President of Florida Women in Business and has been a member of the Warrington Teaching Committee and the Warrington Working Group.
Patricia has also been a dedicated member of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) for three years, serving as Director of the Exposition Team and coordinating the organization’s efforts for their annual regional and national competitions. Their hard work paid off in 2008 and 2009, when UF SIFE was named regional champion and competed at nationals. In 2009, the team placed second runner up in their league at nationals.
As a member of the Florida Leadership Academy (FLA) Class IV, she served on the community service committee and helped to organize projects in which FLA members donated more than 600 service hours. In addition, Patricia acted as a mentor for FLA Class V and as a member of the FLA Advisory Board, focusing on alumni relations.
In addition to working in the Bill Alcorn Undergraduate Student Center for two years, Patricia has worked for a year and a half as a business analyst trainee at Tower Hill Insurance Group in Gainesville. During her internship at Tower Hill, she was given responsibility for company-wide projects that examined current processes and developed ways to improve efficiency.
Matthew “Matt” Tringali grew up in Beverly Hills, Florida, with his parents, Karen and Michael, and his younger sister Kristin. He graduated from Lecanto High School in May 2006, where he was the captain of both the soccer and tennis teams. In August of that year, he entered the University of Florida as a Finance major. Matt believes that this is where his journey began.
Matt’s significant involvement began during his sophomore year, in the Florida Leadership Academy. There, he developed his greatest relationships, with friends, mentors, and leaders in the business world. After FLA, he was fortunate enough to be selected as a Warrington Diplomat. Matt enveloped himself in all things Diplomats, and at the end of the year he was elected to serve as President. When speaking of his role as President, Matt states, “I’ve worked hard this past year to make the organization the best it can be, and during the process have learned how to be an effective leader.”
Matt balanced academics and extracurricular activities while working as well. He’s held the position of tropical fish salesman here in Gainesville, and Marketing Consultant for Bacardi and Campus Representative Blackberry. He has even interned at Joseph Capital Management, where he performed financial research.
During Matt’s sophomore summer he traveled abroad, studying in Madrid, Spain. While there he was fortunate enough to visit twelve other countries, often having to communicate using pictures and hand signals.
He was also fortunate enough to be selected to compete in a case competition in Auckland, New Zealand where he and his three other teammates competed with teams from around the world.
In recognition of her extensive service and leadership to the Warrington College of Business and the University of Florida, Rachel E. Kane is inducted into the Warrington Hall of Fame, Spring 2009.
Throughout her undergraduate career at the University of Florida, Rachel has demonstrated her aptitude for academics as well as her passion for extracurricular involvement. As a finance major and a Spanish minor, she maintains a strong grade point average of 3.98 and will be graduating summa cum laude. These academic achievements earned her recognition as a Warrington Finance Scholar, an Anderson Scholar of Highest Distinction, and membership in Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society.
Outside of her coursework, Rachel completed a collaborative honors thesis entitled “Investing in Commodities as a Long Term Investment Strategy.” Currently, she serves as the Head Teaching Assistant for Business Finance, overseeing thirty-five teaching assistants and approximately 900 students.
Rachel’s passion for leadership was fueled through her involvement with the Florida Leadership Academy. After graduating from the year-long program, Rachel became a mentor to the Class IV students, and now serves on the Advisory Board. Additionally, she functions as the Vice President of the Warrington Diplomats, the official ambassadors to the Warrington College of Business.
Recently, she has represented the Warrington College of Business at the Undergraduate Business School Leadership Conference at Emory University and the Beta Gamma Sigma Student Leadership Forum in San Antonio, TX. In October, Rachel competed in the University of Arizona’s Eller Ethics Case Competition, winning the Bright-Line Award for the most-sound written ethical argument. The culmination of her undergraduate case competition career was this past February, when she participated in the Copenhagen Business School Case Competition in Denmark.
Rachel’s undergraduate experience was further enriched as a result of an Executive Management summer internship with Target, a summer study abroad in Seville, Spain, and a Corporate Finance Summer Internship with Johnson and Johnson.
After graduation, Rachel will be attending Florida State University where she will be pursuing a PHD degree in Organizational Behavior. Ultimately, she seeks a career researching and teaching within the scope of academia.
Jebi J. Mathew
Jebi J. Mathew is inducted into the Warrington College of Business Hall of Fame, Spring 2009, for his impressive academic and co-curricular achievements as an accounting student. Jebi is graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Jebi demonstrated outstanding commitment to leadership and community service as a Warrington College of Business student. Through Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), he led two projects designed to increase financial literacy. Jebi helped expand Managing Money Matters, a program that teaches freshmen students personal finance skills through presentations in Warrington Welcome (WW), First Year Florida classes. Through his leadership, the program was revamped and reached students outside of WW. Jebi also started the SIFE Financial Literacy Challenge, a national program which reached over 4,200 high school students. This project was recognized by the Clinton Global Initiative and SIFE USA for its innovation and impact.
Additionally, Jebi served the campus community through involvement in other student organizations. He was the Programming Director for the International Business Society, Co-Director of the Gator Teens Mentors Program, and Advisory Board member for the Florida Leadership Academy (FLA). While on the FLA Advisory Board, Jebi helped develop an alumni database to increase connectivity and mentorship between current students and alumni. He also served as a student representative on the Warrington Undergraduate and Teaching Committees.
Jebi represented the college at case competitions and conferences in Hong Kong, Seattle, and New York. He was a member of two winning teams in the PricewaterhouseCoopers xTax Case Competition, and received an Honorable Mention in the national competition.
Beyond academics, Jebi also took advantage of professional development opportunities by participating in an internship every summer during college. He completed internships with Wachovia Bank, Goldman Sachs, and Deloitte Consulting. After graduation Jebi will start as an Advisory Associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Operations, People, and Change practice in New York City.
Through leadership and service, Caroline has contributed to the College while also being a leader in the Greek Community. She is the current President of the Warrington Diplomats and a member of the FLA Advisory Board, is a teaching assistant for the course “Effective Career Management,” and assists the college in many other areas.
Outside of Warrington, Caroline also serves the community. Through personal volunteering and organizational fund raising, Caroline has served well over 340 hours in the community and has raised nearly $1 million for various charities. Caroline is a leader in the Greek Community. Former Chi Omega President, Caroline served two years on her chapter’s executive board.
Beyond leadership, Caroline has enhanced her undergraduate experience through internships and case competitions. Caroline completed an internship with Kcom Media Inc. and two at Procter and Gamble (P&G).
Additionally, Caroline represented the college at four case competitions (two at UF, one at the University of Arizona, and another in Singapore). The biggest success of the competitions was winning the Asian Business Case Competition in Singapore. Winning in Singapore was a testament of the skills obtained from high involvement and academic achievement at the College.
Because of her leadership, Caroline has received several honorable recognitions. She was elected by fellow Panhellenic chapter presidents as the 2007-2008 “Panhellenic Chapter President of the Year.” Additionally, she is a member of the following honors societies: Mortar Board, Order of Omega, Golden Key, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Alpha Lambda Delta.
Immediately following graduation, Caroline will be working for the Procter and Gamble Company in Orlando, Florida, as the Swiffer and Febreze Account Manager on the Publix Team. In addition to working at Procter and Gamble, she will continue her service to Chi Omega as a chapter advisor.
Shae is inducted into the Warrington College of Business Hall of Fame for her impressive academic and co-curricular achievements while a business student. She has a 4.0 in her UF, Core, and Major GPA.
Shae is a graduate of the Florida Leadership Academy and serves as a peer mentor and advisory board member. She is also a Warrington Diplomat and avid case competition participant. She was on the four member team that traveled to Singapore for the Asian Business Case Challenge and took home a victory for the Warrington College of Business. She has interned with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Charlotte, NC and hopes to gain more experience in the field of finance in a second internship with the firm in Summer 2008 prior to her Master’s study.
Shae is very active within her sorority, served as the Panhellenic Council President in 2007, and is a member of Order of Omega and Florida Blue Key. She was also selected in Spring 2008 as a new member in the University of Florida Hall of Fame. Shae tutors athletes for the University Athletic Association and Tutoring Zone and works in both the Economics Department and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Shae volunteered for the summer entrepreneurship program for high school students and will serve as the Head Teaching Assistant for GEB3113 for the academic year 2008-2009.
Her advice for anyone she meets is to “live well, laugh often, and love much.”
Seth has been actively involved in the Warrington College of Business. He was team captain for two Johnson and Johnson Case Competition championship teams, and for the 2007 Asian Business Case Competition team in Singapore. He was the Co-Director of Operations for the Emerging Leaders Conference, which is an annual business honors symposium for top undergraduate students in the nation. Seth was also a member of the undergraduate advisory committee. While serving on the advisory committee he was given a chance to take an active role in his education by providing feedback on his business education. Through the advisory committee, Seth spent an extensive amount of time trying to develop an undergraduate business honors program.
Seth has had the opportunity to serve the University while sitting on the University Housing Committee, University Curriculum Committee, and Reitz Union Board of Managers. Seth has also been in leadership positions in the University of Florida Cicerones, the Outreach Ambassador Program, and GatorWalk.
Additionally, he served as President and Treasurer of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Seth has served the larger US community in national level leadership positions with Boy Scouts of America, including National Vice Chief, the second highest elected youth officer in the nation.
After graduation, Seth will be working in General Electric’s Financial Management Program.
Christina is inducted into the Warrington College of Business Hall of Fame for her impressive academic and co-curricular achievements while a business student.
She served in leadership positions in many different organizations within the college and University. Among her leadership positions are President of the International Business Society, one of the founding members of the NaviGators Program, Recruitment Chair of the All-Girl Competition Cheerleading Squad, the Director of Social awareness for the Delta Gamma Sorority, Assistant Director of Marketing for Gator Growl, and as a member of the Florida Cicerones. Additionally, she served the College as a teaching assistant for the Principles of Marketing and Professional Communication in Business courses.
Christina completed a thesis through the University Scholars Program under the mentorship of Dr. Richard Lutz. Her work, entitled “Telenovela Advertising and Viewership”, used focus groups and quantitative data to examine the response to advertising during telenovelas by Spanish speaking U. S. citizens. This topic represents her deep interest in the international arena, which she explored further through study abroad in Rome, Italy and Utrecht, Netherlands. Along with her selection to the Warrington Hall of Fame, she has been honored with a National Merit Hispanic Scholar, membership in Beta Gamma Sigma International, Golden Key International, and the Phi Beta Delta International Honors Society.
After graduation, Christina will be traveling to study at the Universidad Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina as an Ambassador of Goodwill for the Rotary Foundation, an honor bestowed upon only one University graduate this year.
Lee Christoff, a Warrington Hall of Fame inductee, graduates with a perfect 4.0 GPA earning. He is an Honorable Mention recipient of the Two-Year Scholar Award. During his four semester tenure at the University of Florida, Lee engaged in commendable service both in and out of the classroom. A transfer student from Edison Community College, Lee has served in many leadership positions including President of the Business Administration College Council, a member of the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team, and President/Co-Founder of the University Consulting Group. Lee’s honors thesis, under the guidance of Professor Louis Gapenski, focused on Non-Profit Financial Management. Specifically, Lee analyzed the optimal capital structure for a non-profit firm, extending current models used in managing for-profit firms; his research further includes competitive analysis of non-profit and for-profit local hospitals. Lee worked as a summer intern with Wheaton College in their Discipleship Training Program.
Lee’s honorable accolades include the Brent Schutler Memorial Scholarship, University of Florida Transfer Scholarship, and Beta Gamma Sigma inductee. Lee has represented the Warrington College of Business at numerous national symposia including serving as a member of the UF Johnson & Johnson Case Competition team, placing first in the nation; the Duel in the South personal finance case competition, placing first in the region; and the Wake Forest National Undergraduate Marketing Case competition, taking second place. A true change agent and mentor for his peers, Lee worked diligently this past year with the Warrington College of Business to reinstitute the Warrington Hall of Fame and Student Awards Banquet. Lee will begin law school this fall at DuPaul University in Chicago, IL.
Carlos was honored as an inductee to the Warrington College of Business Hall of Fame in the spring of 2006 for his many accomplishments. He was founder of the International Business Society; through this organization he was able to provide UF business students with a way to gain knowledge and resources of life outside of the U.S. Carlos was also involved in the Students in Free Enterprise Team where he contributed his leadership and teamwork skills to the community. Outside of the College of Business he was also a Cicerone where he served as the official ambassadors to the University of Florida. Carlos was elected the role of the Director of Student Government Multicultural Cabinet to help improve diversity of the campus life at UF. Carlos was also a member of Florida Blue key and omicron Delta Epsilon Economics Honorary. Mr. Gomez tied his interests and involvement in international affairs by studying abroad in China.
Jen-Lin was inducted into the Warrington College of Business Hall of Fame for her excellence in academic and leadership development during her undergraduate career. Jen-Lin served in numerous capacities to the university community including her role as a violinist with the University orchestra, Director and Outreach Chair for the Study Abroad Peer Advisors, on the Warrington Center for Retailing Student Advisory Board, and a Small Group Leader for the Emerging Leaders Conference. Jen-Lin is a 2005-2006 University Scholar; her honors thesis examined Starbucks Coffee Company’s market entry strategy into the greater China market. She has worked as an intern with Brown Shoe Company and Naylor Publications. Committed to global citizenship, Jen-Lin studied abroad in Shanghai, China through the CIEE program and volunteers with the Tzu Chi Buddhist Compassion Relief Organization.
Other volunteer affiliations include tutoring through UF’s OASIS program, CHAMPS mentor, and as a note-take for the Dean of Students Office/Disability Resource Center. Jen-Lin has received numerous awards for her leadership and scholarship including the Robert Byrd Honors Scholarship, the University Women’s Club Scholarship, the JCPenney Retail Scholarship, the Asian Studies Study Abroad Scholarship, and the Alice Zirger Memorial Scholarship; she has been inducted into the Golden Key Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi. Jen-Lin began her graduate work concurrent with her undergraduate degree and will transition to a full-time graduate student within Warrington’s Master of Arts in Business Administration, International Business (MAIB) program upon graduation.
Kelli Murray is honored as an inductee to the Warrington College of Business Hall of Fame. While at UF Kelli has served her peers through leadership roles within Cicerones, UF Housing as a Resident Assistant for three years, and the First Year Florida/Warrington Welcome program. She has served as the Director of Student Government’s Big Gators/Little Gators Cabinet, Director of Outreach Relations for the Women’s Leadership Council a mentor within the University’s Minority Mentor Program, and as an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Building upon a strong commitment for accessible education, Kelli served as an intern for Junior Achievement, an ambassador for the Outreach Ambassadors Program, and as Director of Gatorship.
Kelli’s other affiliations include serving as an Ambassador to the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI), a member of Florida Blue Key and the Matthew’s Society. Kelli is a recipient of the Alpha Kappa Alpha’s sister of the year, Josephine West scholarship, Best Buy scholars program, and the Reitz Scholars program; she has been inducted into Florida Blue Key, the Matthew’s Society, and the Order of Omega Greek Honorary. Upon graduation, Kelli plans to enter graduate school.
Student Organization of the Year
This award is presented to the recognized student organization which, through activities and projects, has had the most significant positive influence on the College and the surrounding community. This award is based on the quality of campus events held, servant leadership endeavors, involvement with campus events, and/or initiative to further advance the education of Warrington students beyond the classroom. Nominee must be a recognized student organization in good standing with the Student Activities Center.
The American Marketing Association hosted several professional development events and participated in a number of service projects that raised money for the community. A sample of these include: Altria’s Day of Sharing where they partnered to raise a total of $15,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County, and Gators March for Babies (raising $100). They partnered with Nielsen to host Marketing Week, brought professional speakers to each meeting, and conducted their Marketing Plan Competition.
The American Marketing Association hosts many events and participates in many service projects that raise money for the community. A sample of these include: Relay for Life (raising over $450), Gators March for Babies (raising over $150), and canned food drive (gathering 40 cans). The American Marketing Association hosted AMA Networking Mixer Night, which brought professional speakers to each meeting, and they have received positive feedback about initiatives to develop members into successful business men and women.
On February 26th, 2011 the CEI Ambassadors hosted TEDxUF which hosted approximately 400 UF students at an event themed “Challenging the Unknown”. Multiple speakers presented at the event, on topics such as “the future of medicine” and “the new capitalism”, and with take-away messages for students such as “material wealth does not equate to happiness, but rather giving back to mankind does”. Speakers at TED events such as this are limited to 18 minutes to give groundbreaking and engaging talks, and to inspire great ideas and innovation. This event certainly fulfilled TED’s mission of engaging audiences in the pursuit of “ideas worth spreading”.
International Business Society - Global Gathering
Global Gathering was first held in Fall 2010, and brought together students interested in study abroad and current exchange students studying at UF. The event allowed students to gain a truly unique perspective on what it would be like to go abroad from the over 70 students and faculty in attendance. The Spring 2011 Global Gathering brought together student presentations from each of the exchange schools that UF students can attend. Presentations represented schools from such locations as Madrid, Spain, Taipei, Taiwan, and Lima, Peru, among others.
The International Business Society (IBS) encourages members to attend meetings and conferences, participate in community service events, come to socials, and give presentations. IBS gives their younger members as many opportunities to enhance their presentation skills and take on leadership roles by offering directorship and assistant director positions. IBS hopes to develop future leaders by giving them opportunities to experience responsibility and leadership early on in their college careers. They are committed “to furthering the education of all students, both from UF and all over the world”.
The Entrepreneurship Club
The Entrepreneurship Club (TEC) hosted multiple brainstorming sessions, where students participate in hands on activities that teach them to think like an entrepreneur. They have also educated their members through the knowledge and wisdom of successful entrepreneurs by hosting a speaker series. TEC sent 40 members to Atlanta, Georgia to watch a CEO pitch his business idea to consumers. The members learned a lot about sales and marketing by watching a successful entrepreneur in one of the toughest markets possible in action. Their attendance levels have hit record levels this year and their membership retention is at an all-time high.
The BACC offers all business students the opportunity to participate in personal and professional development opportunities through such offerings as Business Bash, Gator plunge, and the BACC Convention. They have also begun a college newsletter called the Warrington Times and a golf tournament that allows students to network with corporate guests and business members of the community.
Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ambassadors
The CEI Ambassadors are a group of students that are gathered to promote entrepreneurship to the university and throughout the community. They are comprised of 15 members of whom almost all hold a position and are involved with every activity they do. They have started a summer program for high school students, acted as mentors to high school students to help them work on a business plan, and they are involved with projects that promote sustainability. They have social activities as well; they initiated the Business Cup, which is a field day event that involves all the other business organizations.
The Student Finance Group offers business students networking opportunities through guest speakers at their meetings and developing relationships with corporate partners like Morgan Stanley. Additionally, the SFG offers professional development opportunities through their Career Fair Prep Extravaganza and the Business Quickie newsletter. The leadership of the SFG also provides its members a way to reach out to the local community through mentoring high school students at Buchholz High and through contributing over $1000 to the March of Dimes

Student Organization Advisor of the Year
This award is presented to a Warrington student organization advisor who has gone above and beyond the basic requirements of a club/organization advisor.
Cecilia Schulz is deserving of this award due to her unmatched dedication to the Retail Society and to the students interested in the retail industry. She is an inspiration to the students and encourages their involvement and for them to “step outside their comfort zone.” She is constantly striving to help our Gators be competitive in the retail world. She is committed to their holistic success and is the embodiment of what the College seeks in faculty advisors for student organizations and programs.
Jaime Kraft, the advisor for Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Ambassadors, is described by the ambassadors as “one of the most passionate and active program advisors many of us have had in our time at UF”. This year, he guided them in the presentation of TEDxUF 2012, and shows availability and openness as an advisor with an open invitation to eat lunch at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is described as “a sounding board for our ideas” and according to one student, “he has served as an integral part of my college career, and I know he will continue to be a mentor and friend of mine into the future”.
Jamie Kraft, the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Ambassadors note, has attended every meeting in the Spring semester, actively participating in the organization’s activities and events, often staying well after hours to meet with the organizations and even go over meeting agendas before events. According to one of his students, Jamie “holds a wealth of wisdom and never ceases to surprise me with the plethora of ways to look at the same problem”.
According to the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Ambassadors, David Boneparth is by far the most passionate and active program advisor many of them have had in their time at UF. Present at nearly every meeting, David is there to coach and lead them. According to one student “Dave continually serves as a sounding board for our ideas and always helps us develop our businesses. He is very honest about the feasibility of our ideas and helps us contact faculty or entrepreneurs to serve as business mentors. Dave Boneparth has served as an integral part of my college career and I know he will continue to be a mentor and friend of mine into the future.”
For every college student there is a certain faculty member that has a profound effect on student’s personal development and is turned to for advice, assistance, and assurance. For the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Ambassadors, David has been that person. David has gone above and beyond the basic requirements of an organization advisor by acting as a mentor for all members, consistently attending weekly meetings, is always available to facilitate in necessary networking and contact services, and holds himself personally accountable for the progress and growth of the organization. David is there for his students every step of the way and his compassion and commitment to students separate him from the rest.
Erica has served as the Business Administration College Council advisor for over two years. Erica guided the executive board in its goal to restructure the organization by giving them a path to move towards. She allowed the board to interact with influential decision makers in the college. Erica remains patient in growing and developing the executive positions that change each semester. Erica helped to develop the Warrington Times production from monthly to bi weekly issues. Erica also attends the majority of general and executive board meetings. Erica spends endless hours with these students and is an excellent role model for them. By providing them with challenge and support, she pushes them beyond what they think they are capable of doing.
Horace has given many hours to the development and success of the Minority Business Society this year. He has contributed to recruitment efforts and provided networking and sponsorship opportunities. This year, Horace helped connect the MBS and INROADS minority internship program to host a social that exposed minority students to the many opportunities available through the INROADS program.
A quote from one of the MBAS members: “Mr. Tucker has been a great adviser and is well deserving of the adviser of the year award. I know Mr. Tucker personally through the Minority Business Society where he serves as the faculty adviser. For the past two years, he has always been willing to lend me advice on courses, other programs that would be beneficial to me, even helping me with my plans to study abroad. In addition, he also actively seeks out other members of MBS to personally get to know the students. Although Mr. Tucker has many other commitments, he has always found time to help myself and others when needed. It is a pleasure to recommend Horace Tucker for the adviser of the year award.”
Ann has given many evenings and weekends to the Business Administration College Council attending programs and working to develop the members of the BACC into the business leaders of tomorrow.
Outstanding Program of the Year
This award is presented to the College organization which sponsored the most innovative project or program which primarily benefited the members of the organization, College, or University. Projects or programs that took place between August 25, 2008 and March 1, 2009 are eligible for consideration. Two awards will be given: one for programs with a budget exceeding $250 and another for programs with overall budgets below $250.
Entrepreneurship Club for “The Start-up Internship”
Although the program is in its 4th year at UF, a strategic partnership with the Career Resource Center this year helped to boost student and employer participation. This year, the event hosted about 25 employers and more than 300 students throughout the day. President Erick Rodriguez shared that the employees who attended the event included Grooveshark, Mindtree, CollegeVox and Fracture, Inc. Larger companies, including Netflix, are scheduled for the next fair.
Minority Business Society’s (MBS) project “A Night of Fashion” was created to teach business students the proper way to dress in professional settings. Clothing was provided by Macy’s & Ann Taylor, and models from FACES modeling troupe partnered with MBS to showcase the clothing. This event reached 75 students. A student entrepreneur was also given the opportunity to showcase her watches from TrendTyme.com.
International Business Society- Global Gathering
International Business Society (IBS) hosted Global Gathering this year which gave students, faculty and staff an opportunity to discuss the different opportunities that the Warrington College of Business offers through student abroad and exchange programs. The event includes student presentations, and helps international students become adjusted to the University of Florida.
The Student Finance Group invited Siemens to one of their general member meetings to discuss internship opportunities for the coming summer. Being one of the major employers at the impending career fair and possessing a renowned financial rotation program, the Student Finance Group wanted to host a football tailgate with Siemens for the Florida -Tennessee game for all to attend. This event granted anyone who had continued interest in the company the opportunity to mingle with the representatives at Siemens. The tailgate was a great success as 10 Siemens representatives and over a hundred SFG members and many non-SFG members were in attendance. It was this valuable networking experience that provided SFG members the exposure that afforded them a chance to interview with Siemens and for some of them to work in Atlanta over the summer.
On October 18, the CEI Ambassadors hosted the third annual Business Cup. Each organization within the Warrington College of Business fielded a team. This program has gained significance over the past few semesters, culminating in this year’s record attendance. Business Cup encourages students to network and engage with their peers outside of the classroom. Participants are given a fresh perspective on teamwork and can collaborate with their peers in a fun and relaxed environment. Business Cup builds camaraderie within organizations members and ultimately is a contributor to successes within each group.
In the Fall of 2008 the Student Finance Group and the Royal Bank of Canada co-hosted the first workshop of an ongoing series, “Savvy Cents” which are a set of workshops intended to help students learn about various aspects of managing their money. This first workshop drew in around 200 students from a variety of majors. Part of the event’s success was SFG’s acknowledgment that successfully managing money is important to people of every major. SFG’s event helped to bridge the gap between UF students and provided them with valuable information on financial planning which prove especially important in the current economic climate.
The “Entrepreneurship for Dummies” workshop was created in response to the Entrepreneurship minor that was cut. The CEI Ambassadors wanted to continue their mission of spreading entrepreneurship to the business students. The workshop was used as a crash course of different topics in entrepreneurship. This event was held both semesters and attendance was over 130 students.
Gators are Green
(budget above $250)
The International Business Society created Gators are Green to fundraise for their organization and decrease plastic consumption in supermarkets in Gainesville. They sold environment friendly, reusable grocery bags to replace plastic bags. Through this program they reached 300 people in the Gainesville community and helped to reduce plastic consumption. Not only was IBS able to raise money but they accomplished this in a sustainable “green” way.
The Business Quickie newsletter was started by the Student Finance Group to give business students access to “market trends, current events, professional development and career advice, and investment tips”. Currently the newsletter reaches 2500 students and faculty and, through the Business Quickie website, allows readers to discuss current issues of interest to business students.
Each semester the Business Administration College Council organizes an opportunity for all student organizations to get together and inform students as to the opportunities to become involved in the life of the College. This Fall the event brought together eleven organizations and approximately four hundred students.
Outstanding Service Project of the Year
This award is presented to the student organization which recognizes a responsibility to give their time and energy to improve their community. Any project that provides support to the Gainesville community will be considered. The project should be a one day or ongoing community service project not simply a fundraiser. Projects taking place after August 25, 2008 are eligible for consideration.
Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, created the semi-annual Champion’s Cup Blood Drive through LifeSouth Community Blood Centers to help non-social Greek organizations compete and raise donations to LifeSouth’s Blood Bank. The competition helped LifeSouth collect more donations than any other two week period from non-social Greek organizations ever before at the University of Florida.
ASTRA’s Project “Animals, Biomes, recycling, Oh My” partnered with Kids Count in Alachua Country to put on a service project geared toward teaching children about the earth’s animals and environment in a fun and engaging atmosphere. The project educated 20 children and ASTRA continues to volunteer with this organization.
The members of Delta Sigma Pi coordinated and participated in multiple projects that gave back to the Gainesville community and beyond. These projects included collection of clothing for the St. Francis House here in Gainesville, and preparation of meals to be delivered to low-income families through the Campus Kitchen project throughout the year. Members also traveled to St. Petersburg Beach to take part in a beach clean-up, and performed service to beautify a school as part of Make A Difference Day, a national service opportunity. Finally, Delta Sigma Pi raised $3,100 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation during this academic year.
International Business Society reached out to Florida Organic Growers in September 2009 to help work on the Gainesville Initiative for Tasty Gardens (GIFT Gardens) project. GIFT Gardens builds raised-bed vegetable gardens for Alachua County residents and the institutions that serve them, helping them become more self-sufficient and increasing their ability to provide for some of their own food needs. International Business Society believes this partnership provided a means to fight against hunger while promoting sustainability, which it strongly advocates. Through their hard work IBS impacted 271 Gainesville Residents, allotted 68 volunteer hours, and installed 18 gardens.
This past fall and spring, members of the Student Finance Group visited the Ronald Mc Donald House twice a month serving dinner each time to over 75 guests. SFG spends hundreds of dollars of their own money to make these dinners which feed the community while at the same time build retention and cohesiveness amongst the SFG members. They have built an ongoing relationship with the staff members of Ronald McDonald House and both the staff, Gainesville community, and SFG members look forward to the next visit.
In the Fall of 2007, The Retail Society worked with Build a Bear to donate up to 20 bears to deserving children. They donated the bears around Christmas time to the Pediatric Congenital Heart Disease Unit at Shands. With the help of the nurses, the students were able to match the bears to the children’s personalities. The Retail Society was able to bring some brightness into the children’s lives with their feel good activity.
In the Spring of 2007, Florida Women in Business partnered with Junior Achievement to bring the Junior Achievement Program to local elementary schools. Florida Women in Business was able to mobilize 120 business students to participate in 62 elementary school classrooms around Alachua County. Through their efforts, 1200 students had the opportunity to learn the valuable lessons offered by the Junior Achievement Program.
The Pop Tab Challenge for the Ronald McDonald House
This year the members of Phi Beta Lamba, with a great deal of community involvement, have collected approximately twenty gallons of aluminum can pop top tabs to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. Phi Beta Lambda members have also volunteered at Ronald McDonald house hosting babysitting, movie nights, and a Christmas toy drive.
UCC is a relatively new club on campus and it initially struggled to develop its image and brand. Retention issues plagued UCC during the first two years of its existence. This past year, mitigating these issues became the focus of the leadership team. By utilizing the networks built by students through summer internships with companies such as KPMG, McGladery and Ernst and Young, connections were established and opened the door for partnerships throughout the academic year.
Through these strategic partnerships, as well as the restructuring of the leadership team and the revamping of member programming, this organization has yielded a 150% increase in dedicated membership throughout the semester.
FWIB this year has increased its membership, involvement with campus life, and its activities from the previous year. They have worked diligently throughout the year, focusing on redesigning their mentorship program, their member retention system, and developing the first annual Women’s Professional Development Summit.
The American Marketing Association (AMA) has improved in several ways this year. First, they forged new relationships with 8 companies, in addition to existing relationships, allowing for weekly contact with companies for their membership. This year, they also executed several initiatives specifically targeted at recruitment of members, as well as increased dues revenue and partnerships. For this reason, AMA was able to, for the first time in four years, cover all expenses and have money left over. Currently, AMA has 94 paying members, 59 of which were brand new to AMA in the Fall of 2011 Alone.
The International Business Society (IBS) has gained an increase in membership to almost 140 students, up from 100 in the previous year. IBS focused on forming partnerships with other student organizations and departments on campus, successfully collaborating with such organizations as Students in Free Enterprise, Hispanic Student Business Association, and the Poe Center for Business Ethics Education and Research. IBS has also begun to volunteer with Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary, and participated in the Co-Ed Intramural Soccer League here at UF. A partnership with Warrington’s International Programs made the Global Gathering possible, with over 150 students benefiting from the chance to meet exchange students and learn about possible places to study abroad.
International Business Society (IBS) has seen an increase in the number of members attending their meetings and events, as well as an overall increase in the level of participation. There has been an increased involvement with international students and they were able to coordinate 8 new events this semester.
This year, the Minority Business Society has made noteworthy strides in its development as an organization. Within the past year, MBS has increased its membership by 40% due to numerous recruitment efforts. They have built relationships with the UF community by collaborating with different student organizations for meetings and social functions. MBS has obtained official partnerships and sponsorships from reputable corporations and organizations. They also conducted numerous professional development sessions for their members and participated in community service projects that increased their visibility on campus.
This year the Student Investment Club improved its organization in numerous ways. They increased their networking with other Warrington student organizations to familiarize their members with all that the School of Business can offer them. This increased networking caused new ideas and programs to surface. They improved their marketing strategies in order to spread awareness of their new programs. They also acquired new sponsorships from Gumby’s Pizza and TheUpDown.com, which provided SIC with more funds to help the organization grow and improve. Their membership also increased from 54 students last spring to 141 this spring. Their increased membership and improved organizational efficiency has allowed SIC to host and help with events such as Reichert House, Investment Workshop, and Investment Challenge.
Beginning this Fall with only 5 active members, the leadership of the International Business Society restructured their organization to allow greater engagement with, and between its, members. Actions such as reviving committees and redistributing responsibilities within the organization led to an increase in active membership to almost 40. this increased membership and organizational efficiency has allowed IBS to create events such as the International Speaker Series, The 1st annual IBS Film Festival, and Study Abroad Forums.
Delta Epsilon Chi set two goals for themselves this year: to increase membership and to increase the number of members participating in the State Career Development Conference. They have achieved both. Membership in DEX increased this year from three to twenty-two members and state conference participation increased from one member to seven. Achieving these goals earned the Florida chapter the “Largest Membership Increase Award” at the state conference.
New Student Organization of the Year
This award is presented to the student organization which has been a registered organization less than two academic years and has increased its membership, involvement with campus life, and its activities from the previous year.
Business Careers in Entertainment Club has developed a solid membership base in their first year, and offers unique opportunities for members to get involved. Some activities include providing tours of local television stations and partnering with the TV-210 to make the CW a more brand aware station.
Gator Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants
The Gator Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants has made a significant improvement from the previous year. Established Fall 2008 the organization has been able to increase its membership, programs, and recognition here on campus. The organization was able to accomplish these things and more with the support of their corporate sponsor KPMG, Business College Council (BACC), and using the resources here on campus.
Association of Latino Professionals in Accounting and Finance (ALPFA)
This past fall the UF ALPFA chapter was started on campus with the purpose of providing opportunities for members to find competitive internships and jobs. ALPFA worked on fundraisers and secured sponsorships so they can attract more members and have funding for events. ALPFA has 25 members and worked to develop their members by providing professional events where representatives from large companies attend meetings to speak about different topics and members are able to network with different professionals. Members also competed in case competitions and attended the ALPFA national convention, where this year, out of the 10 members who attended, 5 members received job offers. ALPFA has made strong partnerships in a relatively short period of time and has opened the door to student success.
Since their founding in the Spring of 2006, the Student Finance Group has engaged business students in leadership, professional development, and community service opportunities. Currently they have 180 members and a 23 student executive board that gives students a valuable opportunity to learn leadership skills.
This award is presented to a student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to the College through participation in student organizations and other extracurricular activities. This student will have demonstrated a strong commitment to the College and have made a significant positive impact on its students. Nominee must have 90 or more credit hours earned at UF and in good standing with the University.
Jerome graduated with a degree in Accounting. He has been described by one of his mentors as someone who has not only held numerous leadership positions in several organizations and CCLD programs, but also as someone who has willing served those around him in the community. The recipient has served as a teaching assistant and as a mentor to his peers. He is the embodiment of a student leader and he seeks to make any organization he belongs to better. His leadership, integrity, and professionalism are beyond what one would expect of someone his age and he easily stands among the best of the best among the leaders who have come through the halls of the Warrington College of Business Administration.
Allison Sanchez graduated with a degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing with a minor in Dance. She has been described by her nominator as, “someone whose service and leadership is a reflection not of her pride, but of her desire to create an inclusive environment for other student leaders and to enhance the student leadership experience for her peers within the WCBA.” Her involvement includes serving as a Warrington Welcome Peer Leader, Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program Advisory Board, Warrington Diplomat and serving as a Teaching Assistant for Principles of Marketing.
Christine Delgado graduated with degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing. She has been described by her peers and her nominator as a servant leader to the college and as someone who has consistently dedicated herself to mentoring and bettering her peers. She has demonstrated her tireless service to the college through her vast experiences through Enactus, the Business Case Analysis Course where she represented the college in five different case competitions around the world, as a LEAP Advisory board member, and through her role as a Career & Academic Peer Mentor.
Kaliene Lambert graduated with a degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance with a minor in Chinese. She has been described by her nominator as someone who is determined, professional, and committed to helping business majors succeed through their internships and their roles as student leaders. Her involvement includes service as a Career & Academic Peer Mentor, President of the BACC, the Florida Leadership Academy Advisory Board, and various leadership roles within the Florida Business Leadership Society.
Alberto Chavez graduated with an Accounting degree and he has been heavily involved in our college. In his senior year, he served the Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program as the Senior Executive Director and as President of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. Alberto has dedicated his collegiate career and involvement to the success of the Warrington College of Business. He has championed Alpha Kappa Psi to become the largest student organization in the college, boasting more than 200 members, and he has led BUMP from its infancy to the present level of excellence currently exhibited through its members and past participants.
Jackie Campuzano graduated with a degree in Information Systems and she has been heavily involved in our college. She is a current Career & Academic Peer Mentor on the Finance and Information Systems Team, as well as a Member of the Warrington Diplomats, and is a Graduate of the Florida Leadership Academy. She continued her involvement with the Florida Leadership Academy is a mentor and advisory board member. She has served in various leadership roles in the Florida Phi Beta Lambda District II, including State Vice President, President, and Secretary. She has traveled for our college to the APEX Global 2011 Case Competition in Singapore, and the Altria Indiana University National Team Selling Case Competition. She participated in a fellowship in Italian Culture and Science in December 2010.
Mark, a graduate student in the Master of Science program in Information Systems and Operations Management, has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the college through his dedication to the Association for Information Systems. According to his advisors, Mark’s dedication led this association through the transition to a new student organization, and increased membership by almost 400%. He has represented UF’s AIS on the national level, and as President of the organization accepted three awards for the chapter, including “Outstanding Professional Development”, “Outstanding Membership Activities” and “Outstanding Careers in Information Systems”. He has also performed volunteer work with the St. Francis Shelter and Habitat for Humanity. According to his advisors, Mark “will always be remembered as having made an amazing impact on our program and its students”.
Since Nikolai De Leo’s freshman year, he has made an effort to get involved at the University of Florida, and more specifically, give back to the Business College community that has taught him so much. He first became involved with Student Investment Club, where he started volunteering on the Marketing Team and eventually became President during Spring Semester 2008. Another significant impact that Nikolai has made for the College of Business has been through his positions as an Ambassador for the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, becoming a Teacher Assistant for the Cost Accounting Class, and being the current president of the CEI Ambassadors.
According to one of his professors “Nikolai is unlike any student I’ve ever encountered. He is simultaneously one of the most accomplished and humble individuals I have ever known. He is absolutely selfless and generous, and in being so, he absorbs knowledge and experience from every situation and person he encounters along the way.”
Hayden took over the Entrepreneurship Club as president and made it his goal to turn the club into something students could be passionate about. In addition to pursing an accounting degree and owning a business in south Florida, Hayden dedicated countess hours bringing in local entrepreneurs and faculty and raising money for the club. Hayden is passionate about incorporating out of the classroom learning and real world experiences to help the members enhance their college experience. Hayden successfully transformed an organization nearing extinction and turned it into an organization that adds significant value to its members.
Rikesh has progressed through Business Administration College Council from a member to various leadership positions to his current position as the Vice President of Internal Affairs. He is also a project captain in SIFE and a founding member of Warrington Student Integrity Team as well as a brother in Alpha Kappa Psi. Rikesh’s activities have made a significant and positive impact on the College community by creating interactions between the organizations he is involved with as well as applying ideas from one organization to another.
David has amassed an impressive list of leadership credentials while at the Warrington College of Business. David founded the University Consulting Group, was twice elected to the Presidency of the Business Administration College Council, and served as Vice-President for the board of College Councils. Additionally he represented the College as a member of the Students in Free Enterprise Team and as a participant in the Spring 2005 Johnson & Johnson Case Competition. Through his efforts, David has added value to our campus and to the college experience of his peers.
In two short years Lee has immersed himself in the campus life of the Warrington College of Business. Lee has served several positions in the Business Administration College Council including the Presidency. Lee has also been actively involved in the Students in Free Enterprise team.
