Format
Students enrolled in a Weekend Part-Time format are advised to dedicate 15-20 hours per week towards their MBA studies. This range may vary depending upon specific courses and a student’s strengths and experiences.
Once every three weeks, for 24 months, on a Saturday and Sunday, the best and brightest business leaders in South Florida gather in the MBA classrooms at the Miramar Tech Center. Throughout the program they hear from UF faculty that are ranked in the top 10 among public business schools nationwide in marketing, finance and accounting.
Only one faculty team teaches in the MBA Program. Everyone earns the same degree and goes through the same rigorous coursework, regardless of their chosen format.
International Study Tour
A notable component of the South Florida format is the international study tour. Students will take a week-long trip to an international destination to tour company offices and production plants and meet with business leaders. Places visited include multinational corporations that have operations in that country (i.e. KPMG, BMW), multinational corporations founded and/or headquartered in that country (i.e. Hello Fresh in Berlin), local businesses and government entities. The trip is a three-credit class led by a faculty member and offers a unique experience to take the educational experience outside of the classroom. In addition to company visits, students will have the opportunity to work on consulting projects with small businesses in the international market. Past destinations include Santiago, Chile and Berlin, Germany. Additionally, there is a cultural day for students to tour and experience the unique location. Read more about past cohort trips in Santiago, Prague, and Barcelona.
Additional university and program fees may apply. Prices subject to change.
Orientation
Orientation is mandatory to participate in the South Florida MBA. The planned activities for orientation weekend include a program overview from staff, welcome reception, leadership strategies and team building, and wraps up with the first day of class on Sunday.
