AACSB Sustaining Scholarship
The Post-Doctoral Bridge program evolved from a 2003 report (“Sustaining Scholarship in Business Schools”) by AACSB’s Doctoral Faculty Commission. The report concluded that in the U.S. alone there would be a shortage of approximately 2,500 business PhDs by 2012. In response to this critical faculty shortage and rising enrollments in management education, AACSB International announced its endorsement of PDB programs that prepare experienced and new doctoral faculty from academic disciplines outside of business for faculty.
