Many utility regulators are trying Next Practices to deal with the pandemic. Because these are uncharted waters, no one has best practices. But what are people trying? What are their experiences?

These questions were the subject of Next Practices Live with Cedric Wilson of Jamaica. PURC is proud that Cedric is a member of our faculty for the PURC/World Bank International Training Program on Utility Regulation and Strategy, but his day jobs are as Deputy Director General at the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) in Jamaica and an Economic Consultant/Lecturer for the Mona School of Business and Management, University of West Indies, since 2004.

Cedric talked about how the OUR is addressing issues of customer care, engaging with stakeholders, collaborating with government and operators, and financial sustainability during the pandemic.
