Next Practices Live with Silvia Alvarado

Many energy companies and their regulators are worried about maintaining service and affordability during the pandemic. Because these are uncharted waters, no one has best practices. But what are people trying? What are their experiences?

These questions were the subject of Next Practices Live with Silvia Alvarado de Córdoba. She is the founder of Energy Intelligence Consulting based in Guatemala. She is an independent consultant with over 30 years of experience in covering a wide range of regulatory and market issues in Central America and the Caribbean. From 2012 to 2017, she served as director of the energy regulator, National Commission of Electricity (CNEE) in Guatemala.

She discussed what companies and governments in Latin America and the Caribbean are doing to provide electricity during this time and come out financially viable and successful on the other end. She focused on supply chain issues, service and billing issues, and collaborations of service providers and governments.
