What is happening to telecom companies during the COVID-19 crisis? What are their financial challenges and how can the companies address these challenges?
Three prominent telecom executives discussed these topics as part of our Next Practices Live: ICT Working Group series.
- Helma Etnel is the CFO and member of the Board of Directors of St. Maarten Telephone Company – TelEm Group of Companies. She has been with the company for 21 years. Before becoming CFO she served as Deputy Director Corporate Development.
- Justin Nedd is the CEO of GTT+ in Guyana. He was previously CFO and, before joining GTT+, he was Director of Finance and Administration for the Government of Manitoba.
- Damian Blackburn is the CEO of Aliv in the Bahamas. Prior to joining Aliv he was Director of Strident Ventures Limited. He has also held positions with Digicel and Orange/Vodafone.
These three executives discussed strategies for keeping customers online, the financial consequences of the pandemic, the most promising options for addressing these financial challenges, and what recovery looks like.
