Diversity Stories

Juliette Brito

Thanks to the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars program, first-generation college student Brito was able to find her passion for finance at the Warrington College of Business.

JP Robinson

Robinson has always felt at home at UF. He’s helping other students feel the same as President of the Black Business Student Association.

Shane O’Connor

After a testicular cancer diagnosis ended his service in the Navy, O’Connor is exploring his passion for real estate.

Isabella Dohse

A diversity-centered internship in New York City led Dohse to realize her dream career in finance, an industry where she’s never felt out of place.

  • African Student Union
    Founded to support and unite African students and to promote awareness of African issues and culture to all students and the Gainesville community.
  • Asian Graduate Student Organization
    Serves as a network to improve the quality of life for Asian graduate students at the University of Florida.
  • Chinese Student Association
    To serve both students and faculties with Chinese ethnics and UF students who are interested in Chinese language and culture
  • Indian Students Association
    We are an organization that focuses on raising awareness of the Indian culture and providing a community for individuals to discover their identity.

LGBTQ


  • Pride Student Union
    A cultural organization for the LGBTQ+ community at UF and in Gainesville.
  • QTPOC Collective
    A collaborative group of LGBTQ/Two Spirit/Gender Nonconforming POC throughout the black, indigenous, desi, Asian, and Latin diasporas. Our goal is to facilitate educational discussions on healing and thriving in a predominantly white system with an emphasis on building solidarity, de-centering whiteness, and resurfacing our deeply interconnected and complicated histories.

    A national professional organization dedicated to develop better opportunities in business professions such as accounting and finance.

    An interdisciplinary, multi-ethnic organization that is dedicated to identifying and addressing the needs of graduate and professional students of African, African American, or Afro Caribbean descent at the University of Florida.
  • Black Student Union
    Aims to promote, educate and exemplify the rich cultural heritage and unique diversity of the people of the African Diaspora.
  • Hispanic Student Association
    Serves as the go-to organization for Hispanic and non-Hispanic students wishing to learn more about Hispanic-Latino culture and connect with the Hispanic-Latino community at UF, as well as throughout Gainesville.
