Study Abroad Credits & Grades
Credit Conversions
Students who attend an exchange program will be issued a foreign transcript. The University of Florida will convert these credits into UF credits. Because credit conversion varies between schools and countries, please check the exchange program information page of the school you will be attending for further details.
Students who attend a Heavener program will be issued a transcript by the university or company that provided academic content abroad. Usually, the university of record will determine the credit hour conversions UF should award.
Grade Equivalency
Grades earned at international exchange schools will be converted to equivalent UF letter grades and will affect a student’s UF GPA. Please check the exchange program information page of the school you will be attending for further details on grade conversions.
Grades earned in non-UF courses taken on a Heavener program will not affect a student’s UF GPA. However, these grades will be posted on a student’s UF transcript. If courses are taken for the business core or major, the grades earned will be used to calculate graduation requirements GPA’s.
S-U Policy for Business Majors Studying Abroad
Business majors are not permitted to take any general education, pre-professional (tracking), core or major courses for a Satisfactory (S) or Unsatisfactory (U) grade.
When studying abroad business majors may take one elective course S-U, but only if the institution awarding the grade uses pass/fail as a grade.
The S-U option must be approved before the student goes abroad.
