Founded in 1927, National Chengchi University (NCCU) has a reputation as an institution of higher education celebrated for its studies in the humanities, social sciences, and management/administration sciences. Over several decades, NCCU refined itself into nine colleges, including Commerce, Liberal Arts, Science, Social Sciences, Law, Foreign Languages, Communication, International Affairs, and Education. NCCU is home to over 15,000 students, 600 full-time professors, 70 researchers, and over 200 part-time lectures dispersed among 33 academic departments.

The School
The College of Commerce is regarded as the best business school in Taiwan. That reputation is based on the caliber of academics at CNCCU and the caliber of the students that attend. In fact, the faculty at CNCCU has been ranked 7th among the 50 best Business Schools in Asia. With eight departments, ten institutes, twenty-one national-level research centers, and thirty-one multifunctional laboratories, CNCCU has achieved an outstanding record in academic research. The school takes full advantage of its position in Metropolitan Taipei and has earned a very positive reputation for consultancy with government, business, and the community. CNCCU is known as a college for the real world, using the community to integrate theory and practice.
The City
Taipei is a large capital city nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains. It has a population of over 2 million and it is the business and cultural center of Taiwan. The seaside is less than one hour away in three different directions, making Taipei a center of international trade. Taiwan enjoys warm weather all year round, except for a few mountain areas where traces of snow can be found in the winter months. Bring an umbrella; March to May is the rainy season!

Language of Instruction
The predominant languages around school and in city are Taiwanese, Mandarin, and English. The official language of Taiwan is Mandarin (Chinese). English is the most popular foreign language for the Taiwanese and it is regular part of school education. The University offers a host of business classes taught in English every semester.

Accommodation
NCCU provides dormitory and off-campus housing services. Most exchange students opt for on-campus housing, but there are moderately priced residence facilities in the city center as well.
Travel Opportunities
The campus site in Mu-Cha is convenient for visiting the many scenic spots in the Wenshan District. Scenic spots near Mu-Cha campus include Chih Nan Temple, the Maokong Tourist Tea Garden, the Tea Museum and the Taipei Zoo. It is easy to move in the city due to the highly efficient Taipei Metro, which offers access to the underground shopping malls, public parks, and public squares. Students can travel to other destinations in Taiwan via the Taiwan High Speed Rail System, the Taiwan Rail system, and the Songshan Airport located in the heart of the city. International flights can be booked at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport in nearby Taoyuan Country.
