The ISOM minor is only available to currently enrolled, degree-seeking graduate students not enrolled in a Hough Graduate School of Business program and is only offered on a space-available basis. Students will need at least two semesters to complete the minor due to the prerequisites for the courses. Students seeking to be registered in minor courses will need to send an email to the Director of Admissions and Student Services on the first day of regular registration listed in the Hough Academic Calendar. Students will not be permitted to choose their sections unless there is a direct conflict with another course already on their schedule.
Information Systems and Operations Management Minor
The ISOM minor focuses on developing a technological understanding of the current issues as they relate to information systems/information technology. Students who earn the ISOM minor will be recognized as having a basic background in information systems. MIB and MSM students are not eligible for the ISOM minor.
Recent compliance requirements require an in-depth technology based audit of company financial records. This has led to an increased need for a combination of auditing and technology skills in students interested in employment opportunities with corporations and consulting firms.
