Master of Accounting Information for Admitted Students
Congratulations on your acceptance into the Master of Accounting Program! Please pay attention to the following information carefully.
Module Classes Start Date
Our graduate classes are taught in “modules.” In the Fall and Spring semesters, modules do not follow the same university-wide calendar for semester-long classes. In some cases, the start date of the first module may not be the same as the university’s start date.
In most cases, MAcc students will not be taking semester-long classes. Regardless of whether you plan to take courses outside the MAcc program, be sure to pay attention to the start dates of your first semester.
Start Dates for the Fall 2024 Semester
Graduate Module Classes: Monday, August 26, 2024
Semester-long Classes: Thursday, August 22, 2024
Start Dates for the Spring 2025 Semester
Graduate Module Classes: Monday, January 13, 2024
Semester-long Classes: Monday, January 13, 2024
Visit our Module Dates page for the module calendar.
Visit the UF Academic Calendars page for semester-long courses.
New Student Checklist
Confirm your concentration
The program requires that you select a concentration (auditing, taxation, or no concentration). Review the concentration options on our MAcc website. Once you have made your selection email Tracy Hicks.
Schedule an advising appointment
To learn more about the MAcc curriculum and requirements, and to prepare your schedule, please call (352) 273‐0200 and set up an appointment with an academic advisor.
We will need to assess whether you have completed all preparatory coursework. Unmet preparatory courses must be completed in addition to the 34 hours required for the MAcc degree. If you have been asked to submit additional syllabi for preparatory coursework, please schedule your advising appointment after submitting your syllabi. More information on Preparatory Coursework can be found on our MAcc Admissions page.
Remove Registration Holds
Check your ONE.UF account and remove any registration holds as soon as possible. Please note that if you are not registered for at least one class by 11:59 p.m. on the university’s “Regular Registration” date, you will be assessed a $100 late registration fee. The “Regular Registration” date applies to all courses, including modules, and can be found on the university’s Dates and Deadlines page.
Review Student Handbook
Please review the Fisher School Student Handbook. Pay careful attention to the Fisher School policies and procedures. Failure to adhere to applicable policies may delay your progress towards your MAcc degree. We will be glad to clarify any questions you may have regarding our policies and procedures during our advising session.
Sign Honor Statement
All students are required to sign the Fisher School of Accounting Honor Statement. You will need your UFID number and GatorMail email address to do so (see below). Sign the form.
Consider the FAFSA
You may want to consider filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for each year you are enrolled as a graduate student, even if you are not interested in taking out loans. There are a limited number of scholarships/fellowships available to students through the Fisher School. Some of these require the student to have a financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. We can only verify this for students who have completed the FAFSA. Note that if you are starting in a Summer or Fall semester, and graduating by the following Summer, you may not be eligible for Fisher School scholarships. Find more information about financial aid on our website.
Submit Immunization Records (If you did not attend UF)
The University of Florida requires all students to provide proof of immunization. Failure to do so will prevent registration. Visit the Student Health Care Center website for more information.
Submit Final Transcripts (If you did not earn your bachelor’s degree from UF)
Be aware that your admission is contingent upon the UF Office of Admissions receiving your final, official transcript showing that your undergraduate degree was conferred. If you earned your degree from an international school, you must also supply a translated transcript (if applicable) and degree certificate/diploma no later than the first semester of enrollment. For more information on submitting international credentials, visit International Applicants and scroll to the section on “Official Transcripts.”
Become a Gator! (If you did not attend UF)
If you have not previously attended UF, you will need to do the following.
- Get your Gator credentials (UFID number)
- Create your GatorLink account
- Access your official UFL email – for confidentiality reasons, all correspondence moving forward will be with your GatorMail email account.
- Get your GatorOne card
Information on the above, as well as information on Housing, can be found on the UF Admissions website.
