BABA General Studies Specialization: Physics
The Physics (PS) area of specialization is offered through the Physics Department in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The laws of physics are the starting point for most scientific research and engineering applications. Students pursuing this area of specialization will learn the laws of physics at an introductory level, which will allow them to understand technological issues at a deeper level. Requirements
Students are required to have a minimum of four classes totaling 12 hours from any of the 3000-4000 level courses listed below and maintain a minimum 2.0 area of specialization GPA. Be sure to check course prerequisite requirements. Visit the Undergraduate Catalog Courses page to find more details for each course.
Students must take only one of the following three sequences.
Sequence 1:
- PHY 2060 Physics with Calculus
- PHY 2061 Physics with Calculus II
- PHY 2049L Lab for Physics with Calculus II
Sequence 2:
- PHY 2053 Physics I
- PHY 2054 Physics II
- PHY 2054L Lab for Physics II
Sequence 3:
- PHY 2060 Enriched Physics with Calculus I
- PHY 2061 Enriched Physics with Calculus II
- PHY 2049L Lab for Physics with Calculus II

Minor Option
A minor is available in this area of specialization. To complete the minor students must earn 17 credit hours with grades of C or better. You can find out more about the Physics minor in the Undergraduate Catalog.
