The Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) area of specialization is designed for students with interests in materials science and engineering. Materials concerns are critical to engineering design and analysis and new materials are needed for microelectronic packages, biomedical applications, super-conducting films, tool bits, cutting tools, construction, fuel-efficient engines and other industrial and scientific applications. Requirements

Students must have a 2.5 UF GPA to pursue this area of specialization and must have applied for a minor before pursuing this area. Students are required to have a minimum of four classes totaling 12 hours from any of the 3000-4000 level courses listed below and maintain a minimum 2.0 area of specialization GPA. Minor Option
