BABA General Studies Specialization: History
The History (HY) area of specialization exposes students to key historical issues of the world’s most important civilizations. Students will develop the critical interpretive skills needed to assess both primary and secondary sources in the complex task of understanding the past. Students will master a set of research skills that help them develop their own historical arguments. Significant emphasis is laid on effective written communication reflected in students’ use of evidence and the cogency of their arguments. Requirements
Students are required to have a minimum of four classes totaling 12 hours from any of the 3000-4000 level courses listed below and maintain a minimum 2.0 area of specialization GPA. Be sure to check course prerequisite requirements. Visit the Undergraduate Catalog Courses page to find more details for each course.
- Any 3000 or 4000 AFH, AMH, ASH, EUH, HIS, LAH and WOH courses, excluding 4905 courses

Minor Option
A minor is available in this area of specialization. To complete the minor students must earn 15 credit hours with grades of C or better. You can find out more about the History minor in the Undergraduate Catalog.
