Florida Investment Conference

The Florida Investment Conference will take place on Friday, February 9th, 2024 at the Warrington College of Business. The event is hosted by the Gator Student Investment Fund and the Finance Professional Development Program, and will consist of industry-leading panelists, networking sessions, and a stock pitch competition with teams of students from universities around North America.

Stock Pitch Guidelines

The conference will feature a stock pitch competition featuring students from schools nationwide and keynote speakers/panelist events from investment professionals. See information below before applying.

  • Teams of 2-4 undergraduates will pitch an equity long or short
  • Equities must trade on either the NYSE or NASDAQ with a market capitalization over $500mm
  • Pitches should introduce the company, provide a clear thesis on why the company is undervalued, and lay out analysis to support each claim
  • Pitches should emphasize a differentiated view from the market, supported by detailed analysis
  • Applications must include a 1–2-page submission highlighting proposed investment
  • Applications should be PDF format, with Times New Roman 12pt font and one-inch margins
  • Application Due Date: January 13th, 2024 at 11:59pm EST
    • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis
  • Additional scheduling and logistical information will be provided upon admission
  • Selected competitors will present to a panel of judges on the morning of the conference
    • PowerPoint/PDF format, with 15 slides maximum. (Appendix allowed)
  • Finalists will present in front of all conference attendees for a chance to win $6,000 in prizes
  • Presentations will be 12 minutes, followed by eight minutes of Q&A from judges
