Financial information

Costs and payments

We know an MBA requires financial planning, and we don’t expect you to pay the full cost at the beginning of the program. We have payment schedules available for each program format that give you a clear idea of when your payments are due and how much you will owe each time. Your tuition is payable by semester depending on the number of credit hours taken.

Students enrolled in Hough Masters programs pay a professional development fee which is used to develop key professional traits attractive to employers. Examples include team building activities, case competitions, career workshops, networking events, conferences and guest speakers. International students may pay a higher fee for workshops that address an introduction to the U.S. academic culture, working in teams, professional presentations and English writing skills appropriate for a business environment.

All of your financial information will be located online at One.UF. It will give you information about your payments, provide tuition statements and even allow you to sign up for direct deposit.

We want to simplify the financial component of your MBA as much as possible. If you would like more specific information about how to pay for your MBA, please contact Gus Kreatsoulas.

Financing your MBA

How you finance your MBA is an important factor in your MBA experience. We have resources available to help answer your financial aid, GI Bill®, and scholarship questions. General financial aid information, including the FAFSA application, is available through the University of Florida’s Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFA). In a collaborative effort between the Hough Graduate School of Business and SFA, two dedicated financial aid coordinators reside within Hough Hall are available to assist prospective and current MBA students.

You may apply for financial aid even before you are admitted into the program; however the determination and processing of your loan will not occur until you have been admitted. The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships is responsible for determining eligibility and the processing of any financial aid offered to University of Florida students.

The University of Florida requires any student who wishes to be considered for a federal* student loan to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students must either be a U.S. Citizen or Resident Alien in order to be eligible for federal student loans.

You can check the status of your financial aid online through One.UF – The University of Florida Integrated Student Information System. Additional information regarding financial aid for graduate students can be found on the SFA website.

*To qualify for federal financial aid, a student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for an academic semester and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Third-party sponsored tuition assistance

Many students enroll in the MBA program with tuition assistance from their current employer. This requires the employer to complete the “Students Sponsored by Third Party Donors Letter of Acknowledgement” form, and students will have to attach their employer’s authorization form. All paperwork must be emailed to the UF Bursar office.

For more information, read about UF’s process for third-party sponsorship.
