Your candidacy is strongest when there is evidence of proven intellectual ability, managerial promise, and community involvement. Strong interpersonal skills, communication ability, motivation, maturity, career focus, and leadership potential are also important.
- Weekend Part-Time 1-Year:
- Applicants must possess a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or an equivalent as determined by the UF Office of Admission’s evaluation of official transcripts.
- Please note that you must have earned the business degree or minor within the last seven years to qualify for the Weekend Part-Time 1-Year program. Also, professional experience cannot be substituted for the required prerequisites.
- If you have another graduate degree in business or a business minor, we recommend also reviewing the checklist. There is a possibility you have completed all the coursework necessary for this accelerated option.
- The admissions team will evaluate your transcripts to ensure your eligibility for the program, but we recommend you review the eligibility checklist to assess your candidacy.
- Weekend Part-Time 2-Year:
- In this non-accelerated option no prerequisites are required because we provide the business core.
Professional experience
You need at least two years of significant, full-time, post-baccalaureate work experience prior to enrollment. We look for work-related responsibilities and accomplishments, career advancement and potential, managerial or international experience and future career goals.
Recommendations
You’ll need two professional recommendations to help evaluate prior performance within an organization, appropriateness of the MBA degree and potential for future business leadership. Recommendations should come from:
- Current and former supervisors
- Professionals who can speak to your professional ability
- MBA students or alums via a brief endorsement made directly to an admissions representative
Recommendations should not be submitted by friends, relatives, or former professors. Recommenders can upload their own evaluation or use our Common Letter of Recommendation Form.
Essays and interviews
A selection of required and optional essays allow you to describe important attributes about your background, personality and ability to add to the program’s diversity that are not apparent in other parts of the application. The essays are evaluated not only for content, but also for writing style and grammar.
Candidates may be asked to interview with an admissions representative prior to the final admissions decision. Interviews are by invitation only.
GMAT/GRE
No GMAT or GRE score is required to complete an application. However, you may submit a GMAT or GRE score if you believe it will make your application more competitive. You will not be penalized if a test score is not provided or if a submitted test score is below the admissions range.
Instead of requiring a test score, indicators of your ability are considered, including, but not limited to career trajectory and professional success, leadership experience, and previous academic performance. The most competitive applicants showcase strength in all areas.
