His research interests are broad but primarily include corporate finance, governance, corporate investment, and entrepreneurial finance.

    Bio: Minmo graduated from Yonsei University with a BBA degree in 2011 and worked at Korea Development Bank and Export-Import Bank of Korea (K-EXIM) as a loan officer. Then he earned an MA degree in economics from Duke University, prior to joining the PhD program in finance at the University of Florida in 2018. His research interests include corporate finance and financial intermediation.

    Bio: Prior to joining the Ph.D. program in Finance and Real Estate at the University of Florida, Svetlana earned her M.S. in Finance from the Finance Academy under the Government of Russian Federation, M.B.A. in Strategic Management from Moscow International Higher Business School, and Ph.D. in Economics from Middle Tennessee State University. Before switching to academia she spent several years building her career in business starting as a financial analyst and an auditor and leaving as a person in charge of the development and financial strategy of the company. Her research interests include fintech, corporate and international finance, and real estate.

    Bio: Jing received a B.S. in Mathematics from Nankai University (2012) and an M.A. in Applied Economics from Georgetown University (2013). Prior to joining the Ph.D. program at UF, she worked in International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Her current research interests include but are not limited to corporate finance and banking.

    Bio: Osama completed his B.S. from New York University Abu Dhabi in May 2018, majoring in Mathematics and Economics. He worked as a research assistant at the Paris School of Economics during his Junior and Sophomore summer. Prior to getting engaged in research, he interned at Ernst & Young, Habib Bank Ltd and ICICI Bank Ltd. He is also recipient of Honorable Mentions at the International Mathematics Competition (2015), Asian-Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (2014) and International Mathematics Olympiad (2013).

    Bio: Prior to joining the Ph.D. program at the University of Florida in 2014, Derek earned his bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with Distinction. He has also worked in the valuation service group at KPMG’s San Francisco office and the investment banking division at Angle Advisors’ Detroit office. His current research interests include venture capital, corporate governance and corporate ESG policies.
