For International Women’s Day 2021, our Women in Business Association reflected on “The Urgency of Intersectionality” by Kimberlé Crenshaw. When we talk about #womenatwork, it is important to be aware of our actions and remember that we each play a role in creating an equal and equitable world for all women.

The Women in Business Association connected and got to know each other better via brunch and mimosas!
Self-Care Session
Women in Business sponsored an hour of virtual yoga/meditation/journaling to get our minds, bodies, and spirits flowing before finals. Led by yoga instructor Megan Towzey.
2020 Virtual Women's Entrepreneurship Summit: Watch Party
Women in Business hosted a “watch party” to watch and discuss the 2020 Women’s Entrepreneurship Summit, presented by the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center at the UF Warrington College of Business and the UF Collaboratory for Women Innovators at UF Innovate. This Summit offers inspirational stories and lessons learned from successful women entrepreneurs, as well as networking, mentoring, start-up and career advice, and career connections.
Winter Break Book Club
Over winter break, we read and discussed Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead, which inspires us to be more vulnerable leaders.
Brunch
The Women in Business Association met at a local café for a delicious brunch & supportive conversations about our shared experiences as MBA women!
Women’s Golf Workshop
WIB hosted a beginner’s golf session for all our MBA women who were interested in learning the basics of the game!
WIB Movie Night
Women in Business took a night off together to watch On the Basis of Sex – the origin story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a struggling attorney and new mother who faces adversity and numerous obstacles in her fight for equal rights.
2022 Women’s Entrepreneurship Summit
Women in Business hosted a virtual watch party to watch and discuss the 2022 Women’s Entrepreneurship Summit, presented by the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center at the UF Warrington College of Business and the UF Collaboratory for Women Innovators at UF Innovate. This year’s theme was “Better Together: Women Co-Founders, Collaborators, & Changemakers”
Hair Tutorial: Curling, Braiding, and Styling
Women in Business got together for a fun and informative workshop to learn how to style our hair like a pro! The lesson was taught by one of our very own UF MBA women who was a former professional hairstylist.
