
12 Warrington faculty named among the top scientists in the world
Several faculty at the University of Florida Warrington College of Business have ranked among the top 2% of most influential scientists in the world, according to a new study by researchers at Stanford University and academic publishing company Elsevier.
The study includes 12 Warrington faculty who made either the career list, based on their entire career of scholarly research production, or the list of scholarly impact in 2024.
Covering the fields of accounting, finance, management, marketing, and information systems and operations management, and beyond, the study details faculty contributions to their respective fields, outlining the percentile in which they rank. All Warrington faculty who were listed ranked above the 97th percentile.
“This recognition speaks to the exceptional caliber of scholarship at Warrington and the profound impact our faculty’s research has on addressing real-world challenges,” said Associate Dean for Research and Strategic Initiatives and Lanzillotti-McKethan Eminent Scholar Chair Mo Wang. “When our scholars rank among the most influential in their fields globally, it demonstrates how Warrington is not just producing knowledge, but actively shaping business practices, informing policy and improving lives. This achievement reflects the dedication of our faculty to research that matters and work that extends far beyond academic journals to create meaningful change in organizations and communities worldwide.”

- Emeritus Professor Joyce Bono’s scholarly impact is above the 98.3rd percentile in the field of business & management for the year of 2024.
- Emeritus Professor Mark Flannery has a career impact above the 99.6th percentile in the field of finance. Of scholarly impact in 2024, he is placed above the 99.2nd percentile.
- William H. Dial/SunTrust Eminent Scholar Chair Christopher James has a career impact above the 99.2nd percentile in the field of finance.
- Russell Berrie Eminent Scholar Chair Chris Janiszewski has a career impact above the 98.7th percentile in the field of marketing. Of scholarly impact in 2024, he is placed above the 98th percentile.
- Frederick E. Fisher Eminent Scholar Chair and Director of the International Accounting and Auditing Center Robert Knechel has a career impact above the 98.9th percentile in the field of accounting. Of scholarly impact in 2024, he is placed above the 99.2nd percentile.
- Martin L. Schaffel Professor Klodiana Lanaj’s scholarly impact is above the 97.1st. percentile in the field of business and management for the year of 2024.
- E.R. Beall Professor and Director of the Supply Chain Management Center Anand Paul has a career impact above the 98.1st percentile in the field of operations research.
- Frank L. Weyenberg Term Professor Selwyn Piramuthu has a career impact above the 99.3rd percentile in the field of information systems. Of scholarly impact in 2024, he is placed above the 98.2nd percentile.
