The Korea University, a private institution, was established in the early 1900s and has grown to be a very well-respected university worldwide. It is one of the top three universities in South Korea and one of the “SKY” schools in Korea. The acronym is formed from the first initials of the three most prestigious and highly selective universities in Korea: Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University. The current mission of the university is to play a part in global advancement and improvement.
The School
The Korea University Business School is one of the top business schools in Asia, accepting students from only the top 1% of Korean high school graduates. KUBS graduates contribute to the largest number of CPAs and CEOs in Korea. More than 90% of the faculty members were educated in Ph.D. programs in the United States. The School offers a teaching staff 77 full-time professors; cutting-edge facilities; and a global education. KUBS has Korea’s largest number of exchange students and offers more than 50% of lectures in English. KUBS’ outstanding faculty, curriculum, programs and research centers offer a wealth of opportunities, disciplines and experiences for KUBS students’ outreach to the world and international students’ in-depth acquaintance with Korea’s corporate culture.
The City
Seoul, Korea is a very large and lively city, housing nearly one-quarter of all South Korean residents. Mountains circle the city on all sides and it is divided by the Han River. Seoul represents the country’s center for business, education, and modern culture. There are museums, palaces, parks, nightclubs, and top-notch restaurants. Getting around Seoul by bus or subway is easy. The express busses leaving Seoul can take you to nearly every major destination in the country. Or, you can take the more expensive but more convenient trains. South Korea is an extremely dynamic society, constantly changing and evolving.

Languages
Korean and English. English language learning is a required part of the primary school system in Korea. Most young Koreans speak very good English.

Accommodation
The CJ International House is a dormitory exclusively for foreign students and visiting faculty. It is located about 10 minutes walking distance from the main campus of Korea University. You can choose instead to get an apartment within the city and basic assistance will be provided.
Travel Opportunities
Seoul’s transportation boom dates back to the era of the Korean Empire, when the first streetcar lines were laid and a railroad linking Seoul and Incheon was completed. Today, as a result of the diversification of Seoul’s transportation network, it has become a great transportation hub for Asia. There are two international airports that serve Seoul linking students to all of East Asia.
