Welcome, Business Gators! I am excited to work alongside you throughout your time at the University of Florida. As an academic and career advisor, I’m here to discuss your academic, professional, and personal goals as they pertain to both the Heavener School of Business and UF campus. Our team strives to ensure our students remain mindful of the four key areas necessary to achieve success both as a student and in the workforce:
- Academics
- Leadership Development
- International Studies
- Career Development
Sometimes it can feel overwhelming to be a college student! The academic advising team and all of the Heavener School of Business want you to succeed, and I hope that you will take advantage of the services provided to all our students. Whether it be course selection, cultivating strengths, celebrating successes, or determining which student organizations may closely align with your personal and professional goals, we are here to assist you along the way!
As a Gainesville native and double Gator graduate, I proudly call the University of Florida my home in more ways than one. I graduated from UF in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences. I worked in the Gator Student Ticket Office throughout my undergraduate career and worked as a student athlete tutor after graduation. I earned my Master of Education and Education Specialist degrees also at UF, completing all coursework for School Counseling & Guidance as well as Mental Health Counseling. It was during my graduate assistantship that I found my love for working in higher education. I have had the opportunity to work with Preview Freshman Orientation, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the Disability Resource Center. Upon graduating in 2013 I began working as an academic advisor at Santa Fe College, serving Pre-Health and Pre-Nursing students. I then returned home to UF in 2014 and worked as the Computer Engineering undergraduate academic advisor for three years. I’ve now found myself immersed in the business world here at Heavener and believe that my diverse academic background – both as a former UF student and now as an advisor – will aid students in not only overcoming adversity but achieving the goals they set for themselves.
I can’t wait for us to work together during your time as an undergraduate student. Please visit our webpage for instructions on scheduling an appointment. You can also reach me by email. I look forward to seeing you! Welcome to the Gator Nation!
