Giving stories
Examples of how – and why – generous donors make it possible to educate tomorrow’s leaders and amplify Warrington’s impact on the world.
Jimmy Page (BSBA ’99)
Page has demonstrated unwavering support for more than a decade through annual donations. As a managing director at Houlihan Lokey, Page attributes his success in finance and investment banking to the foundation he received at Warrington. His consistent giving, starting with modest contributions and growing over time, reflects his deep appreciation for the education and opportunities provided by the college. Page believes that even small, regular gifts can make a significant impact, supporting future generations of Warrington students.
Stewart Brown (Ph.D. ’75)
Brown honored his MBA program mentor, Charles Arnold Matthews, by endowing a professorship at the Warrington College of Business in Matthews’ honor. Matthews, known for his rigorous finance courses, recognized Brown’s potential after an impressive final exam, encouraging him to pursue a doctorate. This mentorship profoundly influenced Brown’s career, leading to a 30-year tenure as a finance professor at Florida State University. Despite his FSU affiliation, Brown remains a devoted Gator, aiming to inspire future students through this tribute.
Peter and Lisa Mazza
The Mazzas, inspired by their daughter Gabriela’s experience at the Fisher School of Accounting, endowed a gift to support professional development programs. With backgrounds in Wall Street and healthcare, the Mazzas value practical career preparation. Gabriela’s exposure to industry leaders and internships affirmed their decision. Their endowment provides future students with similar opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Now, with their younger daughter Angelina attending UF, the Mazzas continue to champion UF’s commitment to student success.
