The Gator Community Entrepreneurship Initiative: Gator Bootcamp
The Gator Community Entrepreneurship Initiative seeks to help members of the Gainesville community, and particularly those facing economic or other hardships, in starting and growing a business. It is a joint effort of the UF Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, the City of Gainesville, and the UF Office of Small Business & Vendor Diversity Relations. The initiative has two key components: a training program called the Gator Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs and consulting projects for local disadvantaged entrepreneurs through a program called GatorNest. For information on the consulting through GatorNest, contact Ted Astleford (ted.astleford at warrington.ufl.edu), Director, Experiential Learning, 352-273-0335.
The Gator Bootcamp occurs on six consecutive Saturday mornings in the Fall. It is an intense, hands-on exposure to the fundamentals of launching and growing a successful venture. The Bootcamp is taught by our top faculty, subject matter experts and successful entrepreneurs. The price of the Bootcamp is $600, but scholarships are available to cover most of this for those who are economically disadvantaged.
