An information session will be held on August 29 from 6-8 p.m. in GER 126. Applications are due by September 11 at 11:59 p.m.

Completing the Corporate Finance Institute courses listed below before applying to Caimanes is crucial for new members, as it provides a solid foundation in financial analysis, valuation techniques, and investment principles. This pre-requisite ensures that students are well-prepared to contribute meaningfully to the fund’s decision-making processes and perform thorough evaluations of potential investments. Moreover, having a uniform baseline of knowledge enhances the team’s ability to collaborate effectively and apply sophisticated financial strategies with confidence.

If applicants advance beyond the initial application phase, they will be scheduled to interview with the Executive Board and receive final approval from Dr. Eddie Sanchez, Jr.

Interview Process

After students formally apply to the Caimanes Student Managed Equity Hedge Fund via the application link below, qualified candidates will be entered into the following enrollment tests:

  • First Round Interview with Executive Board:
    • 20-30 minute in-person interview
    • Mix of both behavioral and technical questions based on year, courses taken, and internship experience
    • An opportunity for the board to understand how you perceive information within an intense situation
    • Will allow 5 minutes of Q&A for each candidate at the end interview
  • Final Round Interviews with Dr. Sanchez:
    • 15-minute in person session with Dr. Sanchez
    • Mix of behavioral and financial market related questions
    • Overall expectations from the member and from the fund.
    • Opportunity to ask final questions or clarify any uncertainties
