An MBA for any time zone
Joining the Gator Nation
“In many ways, I completed the UF MBA from right in the heart of Germany.”
Constantin Dunker (MBA ’26) works as a dentist nearly 7,600 kilometers (over 4,700 miles) away from Gainesville, Florida.
He has already earned his German state examination in dentistry, a Master of Science in Implantology and Periodontology, a doctoral degree in dentistry and passed the National Board Dental Examinations Parts I and II in California.
“Coming from a healthcare background, dental school gave me a strong clinical and scientific foundation,” Dunker explained. “But I felt I was missing a deeper understanding of business, economics, leadership and strategy.”
Dunker looked to media outlets like U.S. News & World Report and Forbes for online MBA recommendations, where the Warrington College of Business’ Online MBA program has ranked No. 5 and No. 2 in the U.S., respectively.
“When I looked into MBA programs, I wanted a school with a strong reputation, a real sense of community, and a culture I could feel excited to be part of.”
For Dunker, the University of Florida checked all those boxes.
In the Swamp
Dunker’s academic experience at the University of Florida exceeded his expectations.
“Education was presented as something inspiring and motivating,” he explained. “It felt like everyone had their own mission and wanted to pass on a bit of that excitement to us.”
Even through a screen, Dunker felt a sense of community and pride as a Gator.
“Each professor brought a real passion for their field, and you could feel that they were not just teaching content but trying to share why their subject matters,” he said. “Professors and staff were [genuinely invested] in helping us take something meaningful from the experience.”
The program’s asynchronous format allowed Dunker to watch lectures and work at a pace that fit his schedule, while balancing a full-time dental career in Germany.
“Even though I was studying from another time zone, I never felt left alone or unsure about what was expected,” he said. “Communication with professors and their teams was flexible and helpful, and exam windows were usually broad enough to make the time difference manageable.”
Beyond the screen
Dunker had the chance to connect with his fellow Gators in person a few times during his Online MBA experience.

In Chile, he participated in a Global Immersion Experience focused on global marketing and digital presence.
“It was designed in such an engaging, interesting, and well-structured way,” he said. “We met with local businesses, learned about the economic and cultural context, and really had the chance to experience the country beyond the classroom.”
Dunker also had the chance to attend The Washington Campus, an experiential learning program in Washington, D.C. that was focused on healthcare.
“Coming from a healthcare background, it was eye-opening to learn more about how policy is shaped in the United States,” he said. “That experience really sparked a personal interest in becoming more engaged with policy and understanding how decisions are made beyond the clinical setting.”
The first and second time he set foot in Gainesville was for orientation week and graduation.
At graduation, he felt an immense amount of Gator pride.
“I am very proud to now be a lifelong Gator, and more than anything, I am thankful for the opportunity, the people and the sense of community that came with this experience,” he shared.

Dunker is even considering continuing his business education at the University of Florida with a friend from his cohort.
“In an online program, you might expect relationships to feel a little distant, but that was not my experience at all. I built real friendships with people I had barely seen in person, and some of those classmates became much more than fellow students,” Dunker said. “They became lifelong friends.”
