Tracie Cohens joined the Master of Science in Information Systems and Operations Management department in 2021 as an Academic Advisor.
Tracie is originally from Starke,Florida and has resided in Gainesville since attaining her undergraduate degree at the University of Florida. She is a proud University of Florida Alumna and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Education (2004), a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University (2006), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of West Florida (2020). She also earned her certification as an Applied Behavior Analyst from the Florida Institute of Technology (2012).
Tracie began her career here in Gainesville with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities as a Behavior and Mental Health Specialist in 2007. After 14 years in the mental health field, she transitioned to Higher Education by joining the Hough Graduate School (Warrington College of Business) in October 2021. As a mental health advocate, her extensive experience and knowledge in human behavior and motivation makes her advising role a great transition. Tracie loves working with diverse populations which include international, transfer, and first-generation students. Her goal as an academic advisor is to help students develop a perception of themselves and their relationship with the future by progressing toward a meaningful goal.
