Dr. Anuj Kumar is a Full Professor of Information Systems at the Warrington College of Business, University of Florida. He earned his PhD in Information Systems Management from the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to that, he completed a Master's in Management from the Indian Institute of Management and holds both a Master’s in Thermal Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in India.
Dr. Kumar's research focuses on understanding how information technology influences human behavior and organizational outcomes. He has developed an AI-enabled platform called EPInc, designed to identify students' knowledge gaps and connect them with peers who can assist in bridging those gaps. This platform has been implemented in many K-12 schools across several cities in India, benefiting thousands of students.
In addition to his work in education technology, Dr. Kumar has conducted extensive research on multichannel customer behavior in information systems-enabled environments, such as call centers and digital goods markets. He has also examined the economic value of algorithmic recommendation systems on digital platforms. His research has been published in top-tier journals, including Management Science, Information Systems Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Management Information Systems Quarterly. Dr. Kumar's contributions to the field have been recognized with several prestigious awards, such as the INFORMS ISS Sandra A. Slaughter Early Career Award.
