- Learn your way: You’ll travel to Gainesville twice to meet faculty and your fellow classmates. Otherwise, you’ll log in to review asynchronous lectures, complete assignments, and analyze data for a capstone project wherever you are.
- Explore the full data lifecycle: Understand how and where to use business intelligence. Through courses and projects, you’ll learn to query, clean, analyze and visualize data and acquire languages like Python, R and Tableau to present your findings.

- Assistantships: After your first semester, your academic performance may qualify you for an assistantship. At that point, the department will reach out with more information.
- Scholarships: Select MSBA students may qualify for scholarships and will be notified of their award with their offer of admission.
- Federal student aid and loans: Qualify for aid and learn more about paying for your degree:
- International students: International students aren’t eligible for federal/state loans and must pay for living expenses. Refer to the UF International Center to explore your options.
Tools and technologies
Online MSBA students learn to answer questions and support their ideas with data. You’ll develop these skills with the following:
- Globally recognized tools: Across industries, analysts and business intelligence strategists examine data, design models, and create visualizations with IBM and AWS Clouds. Assignments integrate these tools to introduce their functions across the data lifecycle.
- UFIT Data Lake: Start with the multi-terabytes of text and numerical data we’ve gathered to begin mining, cleaning, and interpreting your results.
- Languages: You’ve seen Tableau, R and Python listed as baseline requirements for analyst jobs, and we teach them alongside the role AI increasingly plays.
- HiPerGator: UF developed one of the world’s fastest supercomputers. All MSBA students have access to its data and features.
How to apply to the Online MS in Business Analytics program
- Bachelor’s degree or a four-year international equivalent.
- 3.0 upper-division undergraduate GPA (U.S. degrees only).
- A statement of purpose (400-600 words) that explains how the MS in Business Analytics aligns with your future goals.
- Résumé or Curriculum Vitae covering all post-high school education and employment, international affiliations and research funding.
- Two or more letters of recommendation from a supervisor. Recommendations from student/peer leaders will not be accepted.
- Official or unofficial transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended. Send electronically or mailed in a sealed, signed, and unopened envelope to Graduate Admissions.
- Official GMAT/GRE test scores: Use code UF 5812.
- Only exemption: Applicants with a previous graduate/master’s or professional degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution are not required to submit GMAT/GRE scores.
- $30 application fee.
- International candidates: Refer to requirements for international students, including English proficiency and transcript evaluations. Warrington interviews candidates who attended a non-U.S. institution as part of the admissions process.
- Policy for 3-year bachelor’s degrees: The UF Office of Admissions will not recognize 3-year bachelor’s degrees from India, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada (excluding Quebec), Nepal and Pakistan. Three-year bachelor’s degrees from other countries are reviewed on an individual basis.

Presented with data from one of our sponsors, you and other Online MSBA students will oversee one part of the data life cycle as a data scientist, data engineer, modeler, data analyst or subject matter expert.
Arrive at a solution
Over a period of several months, you’ll cleanse, analyze, interpret and model the data to develop your strategy. The strongest solution will then be presented to our sponsor.
