With 4,000+ full-time career placements since being founded in 1988, finding intriguing retail opportunities for students is the Center’s top priority. It’s no wonder that well-known companies in the retail industry schedule consistent trips to recruit in Gainesville. The Center’s relationships with companies across the world play a big part in connecting students to a full-time positions.

The Center’s programs have helped the University of Florida produce some of the brightest minds in the retail industry, including David F. Miller (Former Vice Chairman for JCPenney), Debbie Ferree (Vice Chairman & Chief Merchandising Officer for DSW) and Steve Knopik (CEO of Bealls).

Internships

The Center places over 240 students in internships each year for real-world experience and preparation for competitive full-time positions upon graduation. Through their exposure to best practices in management and merchandising while partnering with the Miller Center, students evolve into industry leaders.
