Many MBA students at the University of Florida Warrington College of Business are spending their summers applying what they’ve learned in the classroom through internships with leading companies around the world. Working across a variety of business functions, these experiences are helping students build practical skills, expand their professional networks and gain valuable insight into their chosen industries.

Learn more about where our MBA students are interning this summer, what they hope to accomplish during their internships and the professional lessons they’re taking with them as they prepare for the next step in their careers.

Internship: Future Opportunities Grad Marketing Intern | The Hershey Company | Hershey, PA

Internship goal: To explore the day-to-day work of an ABM at a top CPG company and hone the skills needed to stand out in that space.

What I’ve learned in my internship: “I have truly learned so much, from pulling consumer data from Circana IRI and Numerator to using that data to inform meaningful recommendations for top brands that consumers know and love. It has been such an amazing opportunity to work among some of the best minds in CPG Strategy and learn everything from how we manufacture the products, to how we plan innovations and how those goods ultimately wind up on the shelves and in the consumer’s hands.”

Internship: CAP Summer Associate | JPMorgan Chase | Wilmington, DE

Internship goal: My goal for the summer is to say yes to things I do not have experience in and learn as much as possible in the short window I have. My motto has always been “get comfortable with the uncomfortable” and I try to apply that to any new endeavor I am undertaking. Additionally, I love meeting people from all walks of life and am excited to get to know my coworkers better!

What I’ve learned in my internship: Honestly, the entire summer has been a learning curve in the best way possible. I have zero experience in marketing but have loved learning new tools geared towards graphic design and analytics. I find it incredibly rewarding to take the time to self-train in a platform and apply the newfound knowledge in creative ways to help my team.

Internship: Asset Management Intern | MN8 Energy | Boca Raton, FL

Internship goal: My goal is to apply my sustainability background through a finance lens, learning how renewable energy assets are managed and valued from an investment perspective. I hope to build a strong foundation in asset management and portfolio analysis, and to better understand where the growth opportunities lie as the energy transition accelerates.

What I’ve learned in my internship: I’ve learned how much financial discipline goes into managing a portfolio of energy assets, from tracking fleet performance and analyzing operating costs to understanding the regulatory and reporting frameworks that underpin asset value. It’s given me a much clearer picture of how operational performance translates into financial outcomes for investors.

This experience has reinforced my interest in a career at the intersection of finance and sustainability, and it’s been a great complement to my MBA coursework. I’d encourage other students interested in infrastructure, private markets, or sustainable investing to explore opportunities like this one.

Internship: Graduate Strategy Intern | Brightline | Miami, FL

Internship goal: My goal is to build out a new partnership channel between Brightline and Florida universities, using data to identify the biggest opportunities, developing recommendations, and helping bring them to life. I wanted an internship where I could work cross-functionally and see a strategy move from analysis to execution.

What I’ve learned in my internship: I have learned a lot about how to turn a large, complex dataset into a clear story: figuring out what actually matters, building the analysis to back it up, and then translating that into recommendations senior leadership can act on. It’s also given me a much better sense of what it takes to move an idea from an Excel model to something a company decides to pursue.
