About the Online MBA program

Back in 1999, Warrington recognized the need for engaging distance learning. Our Online Master of Business Administration program emerged from these efforts, allowing professionals to learn about advanced organizational, finance and marketing topics from respected researchers without traveling to Gainesville.

Today, our pioneering attitude and routine efforts to retool the digital learning experience have paid off. Warrington’s Online MBA consistently ranks high and attracts professionals from Fortune 500, military and nonprofit organizations invested in enriching their knowledge of business fundamentals.

From the virtual classroom to growth opportunities, this is what our Online MBA degree program has in store:

  • A real-world relevant curriculum: Concepts you can infuse into your full-time job upgrade how you lead, communicate, and make decisions. You receive the same instruction as on-campus students, and it’ll show through your ideas and performance.
  • Our campus is open: Outside of orientation, Online MBA students aren’t required to come to Gainesville. However, we invite you to attend our professional development programming and meet with Business Career Services.
  • A required experiential course: Select an experience to expand your perspective and skills. As an Online MBA student, you can venture away from home to see how another metropolitan area, in the U.S. or overseas, conducts business. If your job relates to regulations and compliance, sign up for the Washington Campus to hear about policymaking directly from the professionals who propose legislation. Or attend a residential or online course to explore a programming language, fintech applications, or what it means to lead.
  • Supplement your studies: Network, learn something new, or enrich your leadership through Warrington’s non-credit programs open to Online MBA students. We hold professional development events throughout the year, where current MBA students and alumni attend workshops and talks led by subject matter experts. Technical training, available through our external partnerships, helps you add Lean Six Sigma, Scrum and more advanced skills to your resume at a reduced cost.
  • Case competitions: All business professionals are problem solvers, and case competitions encourage Online MBA students to collectively hone this vital mindset. One of our partners will present a challenge, and working in teams, you’ll engage every strategic tool you have to design a solution.

Tuition assistance

Comprehensive. Convenient. Cost effective. That combination is key to driving the next phase of your career and everywhere you’ll go after.

What you learn gives you a running start. And because you’ll graduate with less debt than students from comparable programs, you go forth with nothing holding you back.

Here’s how you can reduce our already-low tuition:

  • Employer tuition assistance: Because your success is their success, many employers offer to offset the costs of attending Warrington’s Online MBA program.
  • Military benefits: Make the transition to civilian life or enrich your knowledge as a current servicemember with an MBA from a top 10 Military Friendly School. For more information about using the Post-9/11 GI Bill® and other benefits, read about UF’s process for military tuition assistance or email Gus Kreatsoulas.

How long does Warrington’s Online MBA take?

What’s your background? Whether you previously attended business school or took a different route to get where you are now, two formats deliver the information you’re after, free of redundancies:

  • Online MBA: This 16-month program recognizes your previous business education — either through an undergraduate degree or the University of Florida’s Outreach Engineering Management program. You’ll skip a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals, instead proceeding through a foundation review.
  • Two-Year Online MBA: Didn’t major in business? Our 24-month Online MBA program gets you up to speed and surpassing expectations through a flexible format that pairs a business core with electives for an in-depth exploration of business operations.

For both formats:

  • You’ll progress through the curriculum with a cohort of 50 to 65 students — ideal for collaborating with fellow classmates and your instructors. Through this primarily asynchronous learning experience, you’ll have access to a bank of lectures to review online at any time.
  • Expect to devote at least 15 hours per week to your assignments, group projects, and readings. Regardless of program length, the typical Online MBA student takes two courses per term.
  • Warrington offers three start dates per year: August (Fall semester), January (Spring semester), and the Summer semester.

Application requirements

The Warrington College of Business MBA program considers and evaluates applications as they are received.

  • Bachelor’s degree or a four-year international equivalent.
  • Two years of significant, full-time work experience.
  • Two or more letters of recommendation from professional relationships or sources. Recommendations from student/peer leaders will not be accepted.
  • Required and optional essays that convey your unique background, personality, and ability to add to the diversity of the MBA community.
  • An interview, by invitation only, with an MBA admissions representative.
  • Official, original transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended. Send electronically or mailed in a sealed, signed, and unopened envelope to Graduate Admissions.
  • $30 application fee.
  • International candidates: Refer to requirements for international students, including English proficiency and transcript evaluations. Warrington interviews candidates who attended a non-U.S. institution as part of the admissions process.

Our efforts to transform distance learning early on can be seen across all of Warrington’s online graduate programs:
