In response, the one-year program’s curriculum focuses on launching or growing a business through experiences that engage your skills and put you in front of influential audiences.
This isn’t a career where you’ll sit on the sidelines, and the master’s in entrepreneurship degree program makes that clear from the onset.
Faculty thought leaders serve as your guides and mentors, and in three required field experiences, you’ll get tips from seasoned entrepreneurs, troubleshoot for local startups and flesh out your rough idea into something more.

What to expect in the Master’s in Entrepreneurship program
You might have found your spark in the University of Florida’s undergraduate entrepreneurship class — the largest of its type – or after you entered the Big Idea competition. Or you’ve realized that the best way to do business is to do it yourself.
However you start the MS in Entrepreneurship program, this is what’s ahead:
- Students take courses focused on getting a business off the ground by graduation and can benefit from the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center’s Hatchery. Other courses focus on growth-driving careers in startups and more mature companies and explores various management, mindset and consulting topics. Students can also pursue the Impact Entrepreneurship Initiative.
- For both tracks, students apply entrepreneurial theories in multiple real-world contexts: consulting for small businesses, commercializing the University of Florida’s technologies, immersion experiences and competitions and entrepreneurship trips, like Silicon Valley.
- Mentorship is integrated throughout: Students are connected with small business, high-growth-enterprise, and investment professionals and additionally have access to the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center’s partnerships and Gainesville’s startup ecosystem.
- Each student develops an entrepreneurial portfolio that illustrates what they’ve learned and how far they advanced their initial idea.
