Hello, Online Business Student!
I am the Associate Director for the UF Online Business Program and an academic advisor and career coach for students whose last name begins with G-M.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s in Education from UF. Like many of you, I did not take the traditional route to college. I began working full-time when I was 17 and didn’t start taking classes until I was 23. It took me 10 years just to earn my AA degree! I persevered though, and finally completed my master’s when I was 36. Since then, I’ve devoted myself to helping others reach their own educational goals and maneuver through the inevitable obstacles encountered along the way. Advising is a very rewarding career and I love what I do.
“Slow and steady wins the race” is my motto! It took me 13 years to complete my education, but I now have a very satisfying professional career. As your advisor, I know firsthand how challenging it will be to work full time, attend school, and run a household. It will be a long road, but the payoff will be tremendous. In the end, you’ll acquire a well-rounded business education from a nationally ranked school, a degree that will allow you to realize your fullest potential, and a deep sense of personal accomplishment.
As your academic and career advisor, I’ll provide you with the information and support you need to be successful in our program. To insure a positive experience, I encourage you to reach out to your professors and TAs when you have questions about the material you're learning; to keep up with your lectures; and incorporate solving practice problems into your study routine.
If you'd like to discuss your academic or personal progress, have your resume critiqued, talk about career plans, or if you need administrative help, feel free to email, call (352.273.0162), or schedule an appointment. I look forward to working with you!
