Shyra joined the Business Career Services team in May 2025 as Associate Director of Employer Relations. Prior to UF, she served as a Career Advisor and Instructor at the University of Mississippi, where she developed and led career development programming, taught Career and Life Planning (EDHE 301) to transitioning juniors and seniors, and supervised the Career Ambassador team—growing it from 9 to over 20 active, diverse members using effective marketing and mentoring strategies. She also held leadership roles with the Mississippi Association of Colleges and Employers (MACE), where she served as Marketing Technology Director and was later promoted to Vice President. In 2024, she was recognized as MACE’s Career Services Professional of the Year.
Shyra earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, a master’s in Business Administration, and recently completed her Ed.D. in Higher Education. Her doctoral research focused on enhancing higher education career services for first-generation neurodivergent college students. Her background spans higher education, teaching, career services, and marketing. Passionate about helping students access meaningful career opportunities, Shyra is committed to strengthening employer-student connections through inclusive, innovative approaches.
