Myles brings his successful corporate career in marketing and sales to the classroom, where he enjoys sharing his real-world perspectives with students. As a member of the Marketing Department of the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business, Myles teaches classes in marketing management and professional selling. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Florida, a Master of Statistics from Rutgers University, a Master of Operations Research from the University of Alabama – Huntsville and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and English Secondary Education from Auburn University. His areas of research interest include consumer-decision making in the hospitality industry and cause-related marketing. Before joining UF, Myles taught various marketing and business courses at Coastal Carolina University, where he was a faculty member in the Marketing, Hospitality, Resort and Tourism department.
Prior to entering academia, Myles had a varied and accomplished professional career in marketing and sales at the executive, departmental and functional levels. His 25+ years of progressive experience spans multiple industries, including casino gaming and hospitality, energy, retail, software, and marketing services. Myles succeeded in roles such as the corporate Vice President of CRM at Penn Entertainment, one of the largest casino companies in the United States, corporate Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Superior Plus Energy Services, and Senior Industry Sales Consultant in Gaming and Hospitality at SAS, the world’s largest analytics software company. He has also built a successful consulting practice, providing marketing strategy and analytics solutions for firms such as the NFL, Fabletics, Tulalip Resort Casino, Google, Facebook and Merrill Lynch, to name a few.
When not in the classroom or working with businesses, Myles enjoys fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. He has two adult daughters and resides in Gainesville with his wife, Elaina.
