Dr. Liangfei Qiu is the PricewaterhouseCoopers Professor and University Research Foundation Professor at Warrington College of Business, University of Florida. He also serves as the Ph.D. coordinator for the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management. His current research focuses on social technology (social networks, social media, and prediction markets), platform technology (sharing/gig economy, e-commerce platforms, and healthcare analytics), and telecommunications technology. His research has appeared in premier academic journals, including Information Systems Research (ISR), MIS Quarterly (MISQ), Production and Operations Management (POM), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), and Decision Support Systems (DSS). His work has been featured in leading media outlets, such as Bloomberg Businessweek, Conversation, and ScienceDaily. He is currently an Associate Editor for MISQ, a Senior Editor for POM, and an Associate Editor for DSS and Decision Sciences Journal (DSJ). He is an Editor for POM special issue on Social Technologies in Operations. He has also served as an Associate Editor for ISR special issues. He was ranked 1st in the world in the number of publications in the top three Information Systems journals (ISR, MISQ, and JMIS) for 2018-2022, and was ranked 2nd in the world in the number of publications in the top two Information Systems journals (ISR and MISQ) for 2018-2022. He is the author of the book “Social Media Analytics and Practical Applications: The Change to the Competition Landscape.”
He received the INFORMS Information Systems Society Sandy Slaughter Early Career Award (2019) and Association for Information Systems (AIS) Early Career Award (2019). He is an AIS Distinguished Member and a recipient of the UF Excellence Award for Assistant Professors (University-wide award, 2018), MISQ Best Reviewer Award (2020), POM Best Senior Editor Award (2019), ISR Best Reviewer Award (2018), POM Best Reviewer Award (2017), Management Science Distinguished Service Award (2017 and 2018), ICIS Outstanding Associate Editor Award (2017), DSS Excellence in Peer Review Award (2013), UF Warrington College of Business Graduate Teaching Award (2018), and UF Judy Fisher Teaching with Technology Award (2015).
