Cheryl Aasheim is a clinical associate professor in the Information Systems and Operations Management Department in the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida. She earned her PhD in Decision and Information Sciences from the University of Florida, along with master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mathematics. Dr. Aasheim’s research examines how people interpret, trust, and adopt data intensive technologies across contexts such as financial technology, online consumer reviews, and analytics education. Her work focuses on trust, perceived risk, and instructional design, with particular attention to structured and guided use of emerging technologies such as generative artificial intelligence. Her scholarship emphasizes applied, theory grounded research that addresses practical business and educational problems. Her teaching interests include data visualization, text analytics, data analytics, data mining, programming, and databases. She regularly teaches graduate courses that integrate analytics tools and project-based learning to prepare students for data driven roles in practice. Dr. Aasheim is actively engaged in professional service. She serves as an associate editor for the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education and is a member of the editorial review boards for the Journal of Computer Information Systems and the Journal of Information Systems Education. She is also a long-standing member and past president of the Southeast Decision Sciences Institute.
