Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Center
No estimations. Just direction-driving discoveries
In business, data is the green light that turns proposals into organization-wide initiatives and forecasts into more definite trends.
What gets presented as a complex plan begins as an interconnected web among customer habits, sales performance, social media activity, the stock market and campaign response. These results deliver greater detail into a company’s audience, improve resource allocation and supply chains, and heighten the response around products and services.
Artificial intelligence adds a new, often faster dimension for extracting and acting upon these insights.
Businesses, on the other hand, hear about the power of data and AI but aren’t sure where to begin or how to train their staff. That’s where the University of Florida Warrington College of Business’ Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Center enters the picture. Launched in 2021, we conduct research into best practices, discuss applications at conferences and train tomorrow’s workforce on these technologies.
Whether for guidance or upskilling, see what we’re achieving and how our discoveries drive the business world forward.
Research and thought leadership
How can organizations optimally utilize data to make decisions? What’s the most effective way to integrate AI into daily processes? Warrington’s researchers will tell you on panels and in publications.
HiPerGator
UF has a supercomputer on campus, known as HiPerGator (High Performance Computing Environment). In maintaining this resource for the wider community, our center added 1.2 gigabytes of real-world business data and expanded access to its research capabilities across Warrington’s departments.
Conferences
We’ve presented solutions for minimizing bias inherent with AI models, teaching these tools to business students and developing data-versed teams through dedicated business analytics degree programs.
NSF grants
The National Science Foundation currently funds multiple AI- and data-harnessing initiatives at UF. This support helps our center diversify our efforts to develop an AI-knowledgeable workforce in our region and beyond.
Upgrading Warrington’s capabilities
Our center collaborated with Warrington’s IT team to develop new server-based AI and machine learning hardware for building interactive web-based analytics dashboards.
Cross-disciplinary discussions
Integrating AI into curricula, research and experiential opportunities is a school-wide effort. As such, our center invites faculty from across UF to debate optimal applications for AI, its limitations and its future potential.
UF & Sport Collaborative
Warrington and the College of Health and Human Performance have partnered to determine how AI and data can streamline recruitment, player evaluation and game strategy for college athletic teams.
NVIDIA partnership
Launched in 2020, UF’s NVIDIA partnership powers our center’s efforts to investigate data and AI’s multiplying applications and expose Warrington students to these vital decision-making, performance-monitoring interfaces.
Academic programs
All Warrington students see what data is capable of — from learning the languages to visualization techniques. Yet, we’ve gone a step further and designed a handful of data- and AI-focused programs that align technical fluency with strategic operational objectives.
