Natalie Ehrenwerth (BSBA ‘26), Blaise Rastorfer (BABA ‘27), Lindsey Davis (BABA ‘26), Austin Mendillo (BSBA ‘26), Carter Pauley (BSBA ‘28) and Jackson Gregory (BABA ‘28), members of the University of Florida (UF) Sales Competition Team, won second place out of 80 competition teams at the International Collegiate Sales Competition

This invite-only competition, often called the “World Cup of Sales,” is one of the most prestigious sales competitions worldwide. Collegiate teams travel to Orlando to test their business and revenue-generating skills across three major components:

  • Roleplay: A multi-round mock sales call full of unexpected twists, testing adaptability, strategy and communication under pressure
  • Speed Sell: A two-minute pitch judged on clarity, persuasion and value articulation
  • Sales Case Competition: A detailed business case where teams have 24 hours to develop, prepare and present a solution

In preparation for this competition, the team divided into three groups: team captain Ehrenwerth and Rastorfer handled the role-play competition, Gregory and Mendillo worked on speed sell, and Pauley and Davis participated in the case competition.

“Our strategy centered on three things: preparation, adaptability and camaraderie,” Ehrenwerth said. “We trained extensively before arriving, ensuring we came in as polished as possible. Still, unexpected obstacles always arise, so our ability to think on our feet was crucial. Most importantly, we leaned on one another. The closeness of our team allowed us to stay confident, focused and resilient throughout the competition.”

Although UF’s sales program is relatively young compared to the long-established sales programs the team competed against, the UF team’s talent, drive and grit placed them highly on a massive stage. Their success ultimately came from the support and collaboration across the entire team.

Whether it was a late-night prep session or an ICSC-sponsored trip to Disney after the competition, the team invested a tremendous amount of time and heart into both their work and each other.

“I encourage every student even slightly interested in sales to explore it further, and joining the team is a perfect way to do that,” Ehrenwerth said. “Sales offers incredible earning potential, a strong work-life balance and opportunities across nearly every industry. The UF Sales Team provides hands-on training, mentorship, workshops and real-world experience that help students grow quickly [with] unparalleled access to top corporate partners.”
