It provides basic information needed to develop a plan of study, but is not designed to replace academic advising. Fall Commencement

Saturday, December 16, 2:00pm: Commencement for MAcc and BSAc degrees will be held at the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Candidates must arrive two hours prior to the start of the ceremony. For more information, visit the UF Commencement website.

O’Connell Center Metal Detector Implementation: If you are planning to attend and/or participate in commencement this fall, please be aware that the O’Connell Center has recently implemented the use of metal detectors at their doorways. Everyone entering the building must pass through them, and bags will be searched. Specific information about what can/cannot pass through the metal detectors can be found at Metal Detector Screening. Please pass this information on to your family and friends who might be attending commencement.

FSOA Students

Advising: Due to the heavy volume of traffic, we will not be responding to student emails or telephone inquiries beginning Friday, January 5, 2018, through Friday, January 12. If you are a current UF student and need assistance relating to the Spring 2018 semester, please report to 210 Gerson Hall between 8:30am and 4:00pm.

Undergraduate Students

Friday, December 15, 8:30am-1:00pm: Last day for Friday walk-in advising for undergraduates for the Fall 2017 semester.

Junior Scholarship Applications: The Fisher School of Accounting has scholarship programs designed to reward undergraduate students who have distinguished themselves after the completion of all required 3000 level accounting courses (ACG 3101 and ACG 3401). There are three applications available. Students are welcome and encouraged to apply to all three scholarships, but may only be awarded one. Download Application. Scholarship Opportunity

IASA’s Insurance Industry Collegiate Scholarship Program was established in 2009 to provide scholarships to collegiate students preparing for a career in the insurance industry. The scholarship program is targeted to aid students at the sophomore level or above who are enrolled in a university with an insurance program and whose course of study includes working towards a degree in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Finance, Information Technology, or Risk Management. IASA awarded $37,000 in scholarships in 2017. Deadline to apply is February 28, 2018.

Employment Opportunities

The Tapestry tax department, located in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Income Tax Intern for the spring semester. A qualified candidate would be a junior level or above seeking a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. Position requires 20-40 hours per week depending on the candidates schedule and course load. More information is available on their careers page.
