The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, commonly referred to as PolyU, was founded in 1937. The university’s faculties, which enroll approximately 30,000 students, are highly ranked and its Business School enjoys the prestige of triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA). PolyU’s campus is located in the heart of Hong Kong (Kowloon Peninsula) with easy access to key districts and major attractions. Hong Kong is a fascinating city and a gateway to the Chinese mainland. Studying at PolyU will give students the opportunity to travel to China as well as other Asian countries.
From a sleepy fishing village 6,000 years ago to British colonial rule and its final return to China in 1997 - modern Hong Kong presents an ever-changing kaleidoscope of culture and traditions. With a land mass of 426 square miles and a population of seven million people, Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated areas in the world. A city with many stories to tell, the varied museums, architecture, cuisine and local community will ensure visitors get a taste of the city's fascinating heritage. To escape the bustle of the city, guest may visit Hong Kong’s numerous country parks and hiking trails that offer amazing scenery. Hong Kong is a very compact place so getting around is extremely easy. The city has a well-developed public transportation network and bilingual signage makes it easy to travel anywhere in the city with the highest efficiency and convenience.
PolyU is located in the heart of the city, but the university has many amenities on campus, such as convenience stores, banks, bookshops, student canteens and cafes offering an array of cuisines at affordable prices. Students have Wi-Fi access across the campus, and may also use computing labs as well as an extensive library which houses more than 1.82 million items, the largest collection of scientific, engineering and business materials in East Asia. With an Olympic standard swimming pool, natural grass soccer field, squash and tennis courts, modern gymnasiums and even a golf practice area, it's easy to stay in shape. In addition, every year approximately 280 courses are offered for students to develop skills in 20 different sport activities. Language of Instruction
Exchange students have great freedom in the type of courses (subjects) they select. However, UF students are required to take at least half of the courses in their semester schedule from the business department. Please consult the course offerings available in the Schools of Accounting and Finance and the Department of Management and Marketing to develop a schedule. You may also use our course equivalency database to see which courses available at PolyU apply to the UF business degrees. Students may also enroll in Chinese language and culture classes to enhance their study abroad experience.

Students may stay at the Student Halls of Residence. It is probably the largest block of student dormitories in the world and houses over 3,000 student residents. All rooms are fully furnished with a shared bathroom between two adjacent rooms. Each room is air-conditioned and equipped with broadband Internet access. A wide range of activities like workshops and cultural events showcasing different interests such as cooking, languages, music, and dance encourage students to broaden their international outlook and enhance their appreciation of different cultures. These activities allow students to meet new friends and participate in a variety of fun activities.

Hong Kong's fast and cost-effective public transportation system provides easy access to beautiful beaches and countryside. For travel to China, Asia and the world, Hong Kong's award-winning, ultra-modern Chek Lap Kok airport serves 40 cities in China and over 100 destinations worldwide. Most major Asian locations are within a four-hour flight and half the world's population is within five hours by air. Beijing's Forbidden City and the Xian Terracotta Warriors are both just three hours away.
