PURC Training in Pricing and Interconnection in Telecommunications for the Uganda Communications Commission
April 19 - 23, 2004
Utility professionals studied financial and operational data to address issues faced by the Uganda Communications Commission. Course sessions also included analysis of interconnection costs and negotiations, establishing price cap regulation and interconnection in telecommunications. The materials emphasized hands-on applications for assessing market competition, establishing X-factors, analyzing costs for interconnection prices, and resolving interconnection disputes.
Fourteen regulatory staff from Uganda, Nigeria, Rwanda and Zambia attended the course. PURC Research Associate Jacqueline Horrall assisted in the course delivery.
PURC partnered with Marcia Wilson of the University of South Africa to specifically designed this course for the Uganda Communications Commission.
