Each year, PURC annual conference in Gainesville brings together key leaders in industry and academia, primarily from Florida and the Southeast.The purpose of this Conference was to explore residual regulation for infrastructure industries, focusing on how firms and regulators are adaoting to new situations.The plenary sessions covered current issues including benefits and costs of competition in energy, rate rebalancing requirements of the communications act, utilities and market power, and a roundtable discussion of regulatory issues and visions for the year 2008.
