October 22 - 23, 2007
Turks and Caicos Islands
The basics of telecommunications regulation were the topic of this two-day workshop for approximately 25 regulatory and telecommunications professionals. The participants examined telecommunications technologies, telecommunications operator practices, objectives and roles for regulatory agencies, interconnection issues, and the basics of radio spectrum management. Representatives of four telecommunications operators, the newly formed regulatory agency, and the government engaged in exercises and case studies that emphasized basic principles and how these principles are applied by regulatory professionals around the world. PURC Director Mark Jamison delivered the workshop.
