Master of Science in Management courses and curriculum

On-campus format

The curriculum consists of 32 credit hours (22 core credits and 10 elective credits) designed to provide students with a solid business foundation. Courses run in 7‑week modules during the fall and spring terms, and in 6‑week modules during Summer A/B. 

The program is designed to be completed in one year, but there is flexibility to take lighter course loads and complete the program over a longer period (based on course availability).

Upon completion of the required curriculum, students are awarded a Master of Science with a major in Management.

Core courses

Core courses are designed for students without prior business knowledge. Most courses are worth 2-credits each.

Elective courses

10 credits

  • Choose business electives from a variety of subject areas such as entrepreneurship, finance, information systems & operations management, international business, and real estate. Visit the MSM Course Schedule for available courses.
  • Study abroad (optional).
  • Take graduate-level, non-business electives (up to 9 credits).

Certificate

Gain crucial industry insight in tourism and hospitality by adding a Certificate in Tourism and Hospitality Management.  MSM students must complete five courses (10 credits), including two MSM core courses (MAN5246 and MAN5502) and three tourism and hospitality courses.

**MSM Career Success in Business (0 credits, graded Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory)
This mandatory course covers assessment and identification of career goals, development of an internship/full-time job search strategy, crafting an effective resume, excelling in job interviews, and mastering the art of networking. The course gives students a comprehensive understanding of various industry and functional careers and career paths. There is an emphasis on self-reflection, exploration, teamwork, and career search strategies, enabling students to make informed decisions about their future career paths.
