Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program
Your first network and lasting impact.
Success doesn’t always come from possessing a certain skill or tailoring your resume to a specific industry. Many times, it’s about guidance and mentorship.
As a participant in the University of Florida Warrington College of Business’ Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program, you’ll benefit from the mentorship of other students, plus additional advice from alumni and professionals eager to cultivate tomorrow’s leaders.

What is BUMP?
The Business Undergraduate Mentorship Program (BUMP) pairs one freshman,
sophomore, or transfer student with a student leader that possesses a variety of
experiences and knowledge in how to excel within the Business school and beyond.
BUMP includes developmental meetings as well as networking opportunities for both
mentees and mentors through socials and alumni events. With access to a personal
mentor, a network of 140+ mentors and mentees, and a large network of successful
alumni, BUMP is sure to impact your college career for the better. Apply to be a mentee
or a mentor!
Our purpose
BUMP creates opportunities for incoming students in the Warrington College of
Business at the University of Florida to be guided through the many facets of university
life by an experienced student leader. BUMP focuses on developing the holistic student
by fostering a community that facilitates academic, professional, and personal growth.

How BUMP works
BUMP’s six pillars — academic success, career development, global and cultural
intelligence, leadership development, navigating university life, and personal growth —
produce well-rounded, professionally prepared students who understand the importance
of seeking guidance and providing it themselves.

As a mentee
Are you a freshman, sophomore, or transfer student? Apply for the Fall or Spring
semester to attend BUMP events and get paired with a mentor for a more personalized
introduction to Warrington.

As a mentor
You’ve gotten the hang of your courses, found your community, and might have already
secured your first internship. In this yearlong commitment, you’ll share your secrets
while refining your mentorship style with a new mentee each semester.

Format
BUMP plans a schedule of developmental meetings and networking events throughout
the semester. These events offer a chance to engage with other mentors and mentees,
as well as past BUMP members and participating professionals.

Connections
Much of BUMP is built on informal, independent meetings — those coffee-shop, in-
between-classes, or leisurely about-campus conversations where your mentor talks
about how they handled similar challenges or you highlight a recent win.

Building community
In the professional world, relationships often progress into recommendations. BUMP
enables you to develop both through social events with your peers, meetings
introducing you to other mentors, and AlumNights where past participants help you
picture your future.
Commitment
BUMP mentors and mentees must be able to attend several events held over the
semester, including those listed here:
Mentee attendance
Mentees are required to attend:
- Mentee orientation
- BUMP retreat
- All mentee meetings
- Any combination of two socials or AlumNights
- Awards Ceremony
Mentor attendance
Mentors are required to attend:
- Mentor orientation (Fall only)
- Bump retreat (Fall and Spring)
- All mentor meetings
- Mentor Retreat

Taking students where they want to go
“BUMP sees students where they are and helps take them to where they want to go through an impact-driven curriculum created to define personal strengths and inspire successful Business Gators.”
Carly Rutigliano (BSBA ‘26, MIB ‘26)
