Mentor Application

2025-2026 BUMP Mentor Applications will open Thursday, February 13th
at 9 am. Applications close on Tuesday, March 11th at 11:59 pm.

Mentors are selected for a 2-semester commitment (Fall and Spring).

Eligibility

  • Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or combination degree (Warrington undergrad) business or accounting major
  • Any Transfer Business or Accounting major, whom has been on the UF campus for at least 2 semesters
  • Ability to commit to participate as a BUMP mentor both Fall 2025 and Spring 2026*

*Study Abroad, Internships, and Graduation are exceptions. Please contact the BUMP Advisor if you would like to participate, but cannot fulfill the role both semesters.

Mentor Mindset

Unlike other Heavener Sponsored Programs or student organizations, the main development and heart of the program occurs as a mentor and mentee pair outside of structured meetings, trainings, and events. Therefore, it is important to be able to effectively manage your time and make your BUMP mentee a priority.

  • Meet with your mentee approx. once per week.
  • The more you put into this experience, the more you will benefit, learn, and help your mentee grow.

Mandatory Events

Most meetings are held from 6:00-7:30 PM on Thursdays.

  • Mentor Orientation (Fall only)
  • BUMP Retreat (Fall & Spring)
  • Mentor Meetings (2 in Fall & 3 in Spring)
  • Mentor Retreat (Fall only)
  • AlumNights (Fall & Spring)
  • Socials (Fall & Spring)
  • Awards Ceremony (Fall & Spring)

Attendance at any combination of two Socials or AlumNights is required each semester.

Recruitment Timeline

  • Feb. 13th: Mentor Applications Open at 9 am
  • Feb. 20th: Mentor Information Session
  • Mar. 11th: Application Deadline at 11:59 pm
  • Mar. 31st to Apr. 4th: New Mentor Interviews
  • Apr.15th: Mentor Meet and Greet
