Will obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Public Law from the University of Delaware. He received a Masters of Accounting from Villanova University. Prior to entering the doctoral program at the University of Florida, Will spent five years working in public accounting during which time he obtained his CPA. His research interests include tax reporting behavior of firms, audit quality, and auditor independence. -

Matt grew up in New Orleans and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in European History (BA). He subsequently attended New York University, graduated with an MA degree in European Studies, and wrote his thesis on EU Cohesion Policy and Structural Funds. From there, he worked as an editor in the academic publishing industry (Worth Publishers), working on collegiate level Economics, Sociology, and Psychology titles. Given his increasing interest in all things economics and finance, he decided to pursue an MBA in Finance from Baruch College (CUNY) in New York, where he discovered an interest in accounting. He spent the next year working at a proprietary trading firm, before deciding to pursue a PhD in Accounting from the University of Florida. In addition to the above, his intellectual interests include evolutionary psychology (and biology), as well as the history of capitalism and commerce, and the role that culture plays therein. -

Andrew received a Bachelor of Science in management and Master’s degree in accounting from Boston College. After graduating, he joined Ernst & Young LLP in their Boston office. Following his time in public accounting he worked for Detwiler Fenton & Co., a broker-dealer providing channel research to institutional investors. Andrew is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Massachusetts. His broad research interests include financial analysts and the information that drives capital markets. In his free time Andrew enjoys traveling and exploring the world. -

Andy Liu studied electronic engineering as his undergraduate major at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. After graduation, he obtained a master’s degree of economics and accounting in the United States. His life experience and exposure to capital market lead him to the academia of accounting. Andy’s current research interests include financial accounting and reporting, and the interrelated areas in archival accounting research, such as capital market efficiency, corporate finance, and information disclosure. -

Hadi started his college education at the University of Melbourne, in Australia, where he pursued a degree in Commerce. He later transferred to and graduated from the Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. He subsequently completed a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship at the University of Florida where he was recognized as the 2008 Thomas S. Johnson Entrepreneurial Scholar. His primary research interests are centered around investor and auditor behavior. -

Lan joined the accounting PhD program in 2010. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a Master of Accounting, both from the University of Florida. Lan also passed the CPA exam in 2010. -

Eddie has a bachelor's degree from Claremont McKenna College and a master's of accountancy degree from Georgia College & State University. Before entering the PhD program at the University of Florida, he worked as an auditor for Butler, Williams & Wyche, LLP in Macon, Georgia. Eddie is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs. His research interests include auditing and professional ethics. -

Angie’s research interests include capital markets, corporate disclosure incentives, and international accounting. -

Devin received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in accounting from Brigham Young University. He then went to work for Deloitte & Touche LLP in their Dallas, Texas office. Devin is a certified public accountant in the state of Texas and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPAs. Devin's research interests include financial statement audits and financial statement analysis. -

Ying joined the Accounting PhD program in the fall of 2009. She received her Bachelor of Science from Fudan University in China in 2007, and earned her master's degree in Electrical Engineering and master's degree in Management from UF in 2009. Her research interests include capital markets research in accounting, managerial and cost accounting, and comparative international accounting. She enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with her family and friends.
